Can't see how goal music would improve the atmosphere. It's cheesy as f**k.

Well the days of singing, your going home in a south Wales ambulance are gone and sadly this also killed a lot of the atmosphere like it or not.

As soon as football crowds had to start thinking of the PC brigade, finished.

Also, the only way you will get a decent atmosphere (although it will never happen) Is by switching the family with the Canton stand.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

Mon Sep 21, 2015 7:22 pm

I absolutely hate goal music. Cringeworthy, cheesy and artificial. The one moment that you don't need to create an atmosphere is the moment we score ffs.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

Mon Sep 21, 2015 7:30 pm

It looks like the switching of ends is the most popular 'solution' on here, so why not petition to do it for a Cup game ( if we get any more this season) you can't move everyone around now and that would be the chance to show it can be done without trouble and also to see if it really does improve the atmosphere.

Maybe beat not to try it if we draw the Jacks mind ;)

Mind you, winning4-0 with terraces, a full house, and lovely weather might have helped a bit too

A lot of foreign teams do this it always sounds really good but not to sure if it would work down city or not until at least til we have 20k plus

No mention of stewards. They have'nt affected me but listening to some fans they are having an adverse affect on attendances, although i would'nt think it is as bad as some have made out.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

Mon Sep 21, 2015 7:59 pm

We're not discussing moving fans to be next to the away fans... but we're going to have goal music and a really big flag.
Wow attendances are going to rocket  :laughing5:

A really really big flag.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

Mon Sep 21, 2015 8:10 pm

It was an open meeting and they are desperate for ideas why not try to think of some instead of criticising others for trying to come up with something...I hate goal music and drums but I do love a good atmosphere and will never knock fans for trying something

The Valley Rams used to improve the away trips, could we bring them back in some capacity and sit them together for home games aswell ???

I'm sure Corky will be thinking of something along those lines anyway............

Defiantly this ^ for many posters on here they seem to have had a bad match day experience because of over the top stewarding. The days of hooligans are gone the club needs to start trusting fans and giving some freedom firstly by swapping the canton, letting fans stand and make as much noise as they want. I think making it more affordable as someone else said with the Bradford ticket cheaper merchandise etc would massively help. I think they need really need to tap into the student population in Cardiff in some way by making a student section, advertising in the universities discounts anything to get them interested as even when they leave Uni they might want to follow city away. I'm not really sure about music for scoring goals is going to improve anything but think everything and anything needs to be tried to improve supporting city. :bluescarf:

I'm not going around the houses with you, no1 can do it on there own that's y I said all people who want to sing should head towards back of canton stand because that's where any atmosphere is generated from so the more we have up top near each other the more it should catch on than lost voices scattered around

Best way would have been cheaper season tickets and getting more people in instead of increasing some of the season tickets.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

The fans staying away are sensible - the authorities want people to pay their money, sit down, and shut up.

The days when you could go down the City, and enjoy yourself are long gone. Its like a Nuns convention now.

RIP Ninian.

Why not go round schools and organisations in Cardiff and the Valleys and give them free tickets they'd most probably buy a programme food and merchandise from club shop it will help with the atmosphere and bring revenue with it and if they enjoy themselves who knows some of them could become the next generation of city supporters

This would be a great idea or even give season ticket holders a free ticket occasionally to bring a friend or family member to see if they enjoy it

f**k goal music - nothing more annoying, though drums and a band come very close.

The meeting to get more atmosphere in the ground yet no younger supporters appear to be getting the chance to forward ideas.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

More than 50 fans set about the task of improving the matchday experience for Cardiff City supporters.

Ideas to generate more atmosphere were debated at a meeting chaired by Vince Alm from Cardiff city Supporters Club and he said: “It went really well.

“We wanted it to be positive and everybody was intent on coming up with good ideas.

“It’s all about making it a fun matchday experience. We all love debating whether David Marshall should have been sent off and that’s great, but we must also get right behind the team.

“A good atmosphere is bound to have a knock-on effect on the players.

“This is all about bringing fun back to football and Cardiff City Stadium. People are complaining on message boards and social media, but nobody doing anything.”

Apologies. My wording shouldn't have been 'suggested' but maybe 'agreed', though i'm fairly sure you wouldn't be the person who originated the idea.
Either way, goal music is unneccessary. If supporters cannot get excited in the brief moment after a goal has been scored without the need to be pre-empted by some music through the tannoy system then you have to question what they are attending games for at all.
