As I have also said a number of times, I think Slade is here to steady the ship during a severe cost cutting excercise. His record of getting clubs promoted obviously was'nt the reason he was appointed, and I think he is more than capable of keeping us in the championship, despite having very limited funds available for top quality players. Way too early to worry about a couple of losses, as plenty of others have said, lets see where we are after 12 to 15 games.

Steve,

I've been really happy with the attitude of our team this season and football improved, but I don't expect Slade to take us any where and for me this is a very bad result,Rotherham are awful.

Slade is not a manager to take us up,he's a manager to take orders and be over the moon to have the job.
Yet I will say this,I do like his passion :ayatollah:

Same here. I don't expect him to ever get us to the Premier, and I will stick to my prediction of a finish between 12th & 15th. I doubt that Tan expected him to get us promoted when he appointed him, I think it was all about cost cutting while maintaining championship status.

City should be able to tear teams like Rotherham apart, nearly every other team does

But most have us have seen enough from this division over the years to know this happens, Malkys team had great bounce back ability and that is needed in a division where these results are not uncommon. Bristol city put 4 past boro in their own backyard, have a glance at the table tonight. Saturdays game is huge, would have liked us to take a point

Disaster prob to big a word, but it's worrying and I expect City to bounce straight back with a win if we are going any where :ayatollah:

Shambolic is probably a better term to use, just like the way our club has been managed and run these last few years.

Do people really wonder why our attendances are so low??? Even the club announcer is an embarrassment!

Yes your right I've seen this time and time again over the years.

Still not convinced about Slade, but yes Charlton home a must must win :thumbright:

Yes Rick Shambolic is about right and fans don't believe in Slade that is a major problem, he will now have to show we are not just a mid table team as what we look like at present.

Having said all that following 2 defeats in a row next week is now an absolute MUST win game as losing can become a habit and we must now go on a run of unbeaten games, or the playoffs will quickly become a pipedream.

:bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Gary, Yes there is a lot of truth in that, but against the worst team in the Leagyes, a quality side like ours should be able to tear teams like them apart.

2 defeats in a row, please City bounce back and show character and take it out on Charlton on Sat :thumbright:

Annis you have seen enough of the championship to know its rare teams tear each other apart, just doesn't happen that regular more consistency and being able to bounce back.

But we do have the quality in the squad to do this , but do we have the manager?

Not a disaster Annis. Disappointing to lose to inferior opposition and the 10 man side were up against it. The trouble is it was level at half time.

It should have been level at full time.

To concede in injury time is a sickener.

I don't like Marshall being held responsible though. He did something daft but there was enough time to cope with it.

Not long got back. Very disappointing, but its still early in the season. There are no easy games in the Championship. Same as at Forest last season, Marshall just lost it completely. Cost us.

If they loan high earners out again I would find that distasteful. I hope that is not on the agenda this season.

Every game is tough, but after the defeat to Hull,we had a chance against the worst side in the Championship to show we can bounce back and we failed to do that.
So let's hope we can take it out on Charlton :ayatollah:

Back to back defeats are common place in this league, it's tough and very unpredictable, we've had a great season up until this week gone so it's time to kick on again now and put it right against Charlton.

Steve Evans: 'Rotherham United battered Cardiff City to claim first win'

Steve Evans has said that Rotherham United gave Cardiff City "a hiding" during their Championship victory on Saturday.

The Millers won 2-1 to claim their first win of the season after a stoppage-time own goal by Matthew Connolly.

"The win has been coming for me. I think if it would have been anything other than a win it would have been a travesty. We've been the best side by a million miles from the first minute," Evans told BBC Sport.

"I thought we were battering them at 11 versus 11. They showed no interest in going forward in the second half and were camped behind the ball. The question was in the second half could we get the goal that our momentum deserved? You think it's not going to be our day.

"I think we were fantastic. We beat a top side full of quality players. We gave them a bit of a hiding."

Rotherham are now two points off safety in the Championship table.

Smack on! Have a look at my other posts on threads last couple of days. Some are so quick to jump on a scapegoat. As you said, the club needs to show him support and get him back to full strength as soon as the ban expires. Marshall is a top club member and a very very loyal guy. He deserves the same in return.
