I live away and get back once a year if lucky, I've come and got a game or two in every season for last 12 yrs the only season I didn't was when we were in prem due to difficulty getting a ticket. And I've been there for yrs but I had to sit back and watch the glory hunting rats nibble all the tickets up. Frustrating to say the least as far as I'm concerned City is everything to me no matter what twit is steering the ship.

We had 1,700 against Halifax Town at the old Nin :bluebird:

I do. Think tan has big played a big part in the dwindling crowd. Many fans are saying get over it, but during that time when fans left. They found out that there's plenty more things to do on a Saturday other than Cardiff, and because of. That we have lost a big part of the fan base. Also living costs have risen, fans with money on here who always attend like to blame a lot of the empty seats on plastic fans when in reality regardless of £20 a ticket, it's the whole day, transport, buying tickets for family and stuff, and when you do pay you find yourself being treated like a criminal by some stewards. The atmosphere is dire.

nice to have positive story add it to lowest attendance we have had in div 1 2 3 & 4 when we were in them! ffs there must always be a lowest crowd or do people on here not think that? :o

blame tan for all the other lowest attendances as well!

Agree to an extent but even before the prem we averaged about 20k a game in this ground.

yes because we had success, coming to stadium we had more than 13k ST holders!! so crowds always going to be couple of K more than St holders just like today was about 3k more? to me its a non story for reasons stated must always be a lowest crowd in any stadium at some point.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

I can't speak for every fan that no longer goes, but I haven't attended since the rebrand and the heart and soul of my club being ripped apart. Yes the kit is blue again (which is great) - but that's NOT the point. The point is, life long supporters were alienated to such a degree by Tan in the build up to, and during the rebrand (and general erasing of our identity), many either can't face watching what is now a shadow of our former club, or have simply found better ways of spending their money.

As Tan said, we are just customers to him, and unfortunately maybe these "customers" have decided to shop elsewhere.

This began with Tan and no one else.

2 - 3 half hearted songs from the canton. Like a morgue today.

Mate, they played Men Of Harlech far too early. I heard it from outside the ground when I was walking up, and shit myself that I was going to miss the game, only to get in and realise that the players hadn't even come out onto the pitch.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

I was disappointed I have to say, but that's how it is we all have loads of mates who didn't go today right? Said before there are different category of fans and notging wrong with that. We are thick and thin others float, some super float. When we are in the hunt come feb the season tickets will be released for next year end will be gobbled up as the panic buy starts.

The floater fan with a season ticket will go most of the time, but the floater who can pick and choose like this season will not be choosing Huddersfield town. :bluebird:

Crowds will come back if we stay around top 6, fickle fans. Can someone teach our fans to sing...
Now they can't sing 'we'll always be blue' they seem lost.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sat Sep 12, 2015 7:43 pm

the fickle cardiff city fan base is to blame. i remember when the passion was back in the first game in blue last season i thought we'd get 20,000 easily this season. that was short lived as the majority of those threatening to not renew because of the red just decided that the football was crap and didnt bother coming back.

to be honest the plastics not turning up is the last of my worries. the start has been really good and we should be concentrating on that.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sat Sep 12, 2015 7:44 pm

Well it's up to us hardcore fans who attend to raise the noise and cheer on our team. Whatever reason people stay away is up to them, hopefully people will come back but in the meantime enjoy ourselves.

Let's hope the stewards back off ASAP too.

Totally agree wolves was great today was never going to be, it will be much improved against hull

We can all do something positive ...encourage a friend to come next match...we all do that and the attendance doubles...support any club initiatives to get fans back if they do cheap tickets don't moan that you got a season ticket and fans are getting in cheap for a few games a season...we can all help if we want to

Right but the lowest we had I think was 17k. 13k is poor and needs being addressed to.

Maybe we should all sit in the same area, like at most grounds. We would have no issue generating noise then. :bluescarf:

Rather than discuss the problem and look for somebody to blame, why not just discuss the solution on how to get fans back. The marketing department at Cardiff City FC will no doubt be looking for solutions to get the fans back and put bums on seats.

It can't be all to do with Tan and ticket prices, cheap ticket prices help but its not ALL about price.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sat Sep 12, 2015 8:06 pm

The club needs to do everything they can to get the fans back to the stadium.

The club needs to improve the quality of the day out at the football

They need to increase the advertising of home match ticket sales on social media etc

Well what happened before? Wasn't it voted one of the best football grounds for a day out? Needs more fan experience. Just seems lifeless in there now and boring.

Simon that was the real old bad days at Ninian Park.

At this new modern stadium it's our lowest ever crowds and yet we have had nothing but success.

Rebrand hurt us beyond,Tans circus did not help,Premier League being a disaster did not help,Red Brigade did not help, Club distanced itself from our fans and Glory hunters to many we had.

I think there are a huge amount of fans like my father and I who went religiously for years, but after missing games during the height of the protests and in-fighting found at that actually its ok not to go every week.

This is my first year without a season ticket in 12 years, and i am not missing it at all, saving lots of money, picking and choosing games which suits me, and started playing golf on the weekends.

And for those that say you cant blame Tan anymore, how else can i explain my lack of empathy towards the club, in previous years I would sacrifice a family meal or event to go watch Cardiff, but not anymore, after being made to feel like a customer in the 10%-20% that Tan wanted rid off, i am not in no hurry to rush back now that we are wanted to boost the crowds again.

Each to their own and I can see and understand how you feel and your not held with a gun to your head, it is a shame though because this team are playing for the shirt, the past is gone owners will come and go but CCFC will always remain. Get yourself down for hull

To be fair, I am still hurting by what Tan did to our club and I will never ever forgive him or the Red Brigade.
They both destroyed the heart of the club I loved.
But I love the name Cardiff City and it's still part of me and I won't let them destroy that :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:
