We should have gone 4-4-1-1 with defence of Gunter, Williams, Davies and Taylor. Midfield should have been Ramsey and King in middle with Robson-Kanu on left and cotterill on right with bale in free role behind votes.

Coleman is a one trick pony who relies on Bale magic to get him results. Good managers are flexible and change tactics. We will still qualify but God help user we get a tough group.

Doesn't suit our defenders?

5 clean sheets on the trot.

Coleman was very smart tonight because it was effectively a six pointer that could have swung the balance of the group back into their favour, had they grabbed a win.

We could have been looking at had Israel grabbed a win against us tonight.

Wales 17
Belgium 17
Israel 15

Instead even if Belgium win tonight.

Wales 18
Belgium 17
Israel 13

Then if

Belgium beat Andorra
Israel beat Cyprus
We lose to Bosnia

Belgium 20
Wales 18
Israel 16

Final game Israel need to beat Belgium in Belgium and Andorra need to beat us in Wales for them to go through with

Belgium 20
Israel 19
Wales 18

Even if we draw vs Andorra and Israel win then we still go through due to H2H (one win vs Israel and one draw)

Belgium 20
Wales 19 (through on H2H)
Israel 19

Coleman played a mathematical and tactical masterstroke tonight. You have to be bloody barmy to not realise that. Had we lost 1-0 by taking silly risks and then we go into the last 2 games with it being so close, there'd have been an absolute meltdown on here and in Wales as a whole for taking risks. With some, Coleman just cannot win. All the pressure is now on Israel to beat both Cyprus and Belgium whilst we don't even get 1 point. Thats a big ask.

It is much better than

Wales 17
Belgium 17
Israel 15

I can assure you.

Good job Chris Coleman on not trying to rush the job and winning this 6 pointer. Only fools rush in! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

This post wins. :)

If anyone is angry tonight then go f**k yourself and never watch Wales again. Obviously everyone is disappointed at the anti climax of it all but we have qualified in all but name.

Good analysis. If we lose at home to Andorra, then we don't deserve to qualify.

I'll probably get slaughtered for this

My opinion

Defensively very solid even tho when Chester got injured I was worried as I didn't see chris changing the 5-3-2 and I knew we'd be playing two full backs at centre half, however I've been pleasantly surprised with how Davies and Gunter Have coped however we've not really been tested last two game but nevertheless massively positive our defence performances have been

What I can't fathom is why after 5 games of playing church up top alone we've deserted that to play Kanu up top, it's madness IMO and more a case of Us Being in such a good position after the unexpected Belgium win that chris has shut up shop so to speak

We played a very average striker for 5 games who down a good job up top brining people in to play freeing up space etc without setting the world alight which was a job well done we then Harv a better option in vokes back from injury fit and ready to go and we are playing Kanu in a position he is not comfortable with although he gives his all its just not for him anyone can see it, whilst we've taken four points in two games which is great I can't help but feel we've made things extremely tough for ourselves Cyprus Thursday we looked out of ideas lacked width and aimlessly went through a brick wall down the centr of the park vokes came on and immediately he changed things up held the ball up helped get the ball wide and crated them problems and give the likes of bale and Ramsey the space they need to do their thing

Similar story tonight we had more width which normally I'd say brilliant but we aimlessly pumped balls into the box to Kanu who couldn't win a header against a two foot midget couldn't fault his effort his running but he doesn't score goals doesn't really cross that well, strange for a winger I know but he just isn't effective enough alone up front for me, bale was dropping deeper than a prostitutes fanny just to get on the ball and although having a decent first 25 minutes and Israel barley threatening all game I thought afterward we looked flat and lacking ideas once again the introduction of an out and out striker albeit very late on have is something we were lacking

Not saying they are the best strikers around but they know the position, the Jon they need to do and just seem to give us options something I feel we lacked for large parts of both games

I also think as a player when you see a team sheet with no out and out striker in the opposition it gives u a lift and it also doesn't say to much for colemans opinion of vokes and church not something you need when your team is scoring goals through just one player

Don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic about our campaign and what looks like certain qualification but I still have doubts about Chris's ability when I see strange things like I've mentioned

Some will disagree and it's all about opinions but France gets a lot tougher and whilst a solid defence is massive we also need something else going forward

Thank God some of our posters arent managers. Balkanblue explained it perfectly and Coleman did the smart thing, an offensive that is clearly beyond the thinking of some on here. It was the mathamatical play and an absolutely brilliant piece of tactical managerial composure when all around are getting carried away. He continues to impress.

I would also like to point out, while yes Gareth Bale is our most dangerous attacking outlet... To pigeonhole the team and gareth bale - and the defence is a mistake. A defensive unit is also the midfield, without the quality of our midfield we would not be keeping clean sheets as easily as we have. There is a tendancy amongst our ranks, even when playing well, to castigate a certain portion of players and put blame on them. It is a team game and everybody is playing a very large part.

Time to stop the blame game. We are Wales, a tiny nation that is a cobbled together side and which happens to have the most expensive player on the panet in it. But a one man team we most certainly are not.

Huge credit goes to coleman, didn't think he had it in him. He had the squad thanks to tosh and speed but felt he was hindering us.

While I still don't think he is the brightest manager he is doing what was needed and that's to get a team spirit back and getting the best out of key players. I think some reactions to the draw I've srrn are a little disrespectful to the work put in.
We should qualify, if we can't draw with andorra at home we don't deserve to go to France.

Most of it is down to frustration and nothing more, no one is slating Coleman as far as I can see, everyone is behind him. It's just after so long waiting for this moment to come, everyone naturally built up their hopes of seeing it happen yesterday, and now we got to wait another fuking month before we can party :laughing6: and of course, it still leaves that nagging little bit of doubt in the back of everyone's mind.....are we going to somehow fuk this up..... No chance of that happening, but still, it leaves that little bit of doubt

And plus, if we won yesterday, we probably would have gone on to top the group, now I think Belgium will finnish top at the end. I know it doesn't really matter, but it would be nice if we could win the group for bragging rights lol
