All was one

All I said and Carl said was that the deal was virtually done on a new striker, which there was.
We never said we knew who it was? ? ?

No work permit needed as he's French.

Big gamble by the club as he's only just come back from a long term injury, told the French press wants to nevertheless come and try out the English championship

Idriss is down the club right now.

Campbell was in the same situation before he joined us from Sunderland . I think he'll be a good player for us

Plays for a club in Ligue 2 and hasn't played in a league match this season, because of a long term injury. Obviously not going to be ready for the Championship yet. Clearly a signing for the future.

He looks better than Rudy from the highlights.. Depends on how well he will come back from his long term injury.

Re: ' CARDIFF CITY SIGN STRIKER '

Mon Aug 31, 2015 5:02 pm

What was his long term injury and will he pass a medical ,who is the scout s in France then

Mon Aug 31, 2015 5:02 pm

Low risk signing that could end up being the final piece of the puzzle.

We needed pace up top.

Re: ' CARDIFF CITY SIGN STRIKER '

Mon Aug 31, 2015 5:02 pm

Loving this, nobody saw this coming. Great work from the club keeping this quiet. It's clear he's pacey so he will give us an extra dimension. Well done City! :ayatollah:

Reports in France saying Idriss Saadi has signed for Cardiff City.

His club Clermont Foot have announced it on their official site.

6ft 1 with a good goalscoring record at 23. stats look good :ayatollah:

Video of him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VJty6oQJzU :ayatollah:

The player has just come back from a long term injury.

29 apps, 20 goals in St Etienne reserves, no goals for their actual team. 1 goal for Reims in 10 appearances, joined Ajaccio and got 7 goals in 32 apps and then last season got 18 goals in 39 appearances for Clermont Foot. 23 year old striker, 6 ft 1 in.

That YouTube video reminds me of another one I watched on a recent great City striker. Who was it now?

Oh yes................Andreas Cornelius

Only injury listed on transfermarkt is a groin strain in 2013 but has been injured since January. Missed their first 2 games with a thigh injury apparently.

That's not too serious then ,can recover easy from that

Looked into it more it looks like he injured his cruciate ligament in January, the thigh injury was afterwards. Could go one of two ways hes young enough to recover.

Re: " UPDATED " ' CARDIFF CITY SIGN STRIKER '

Russell Slade has landed the striker he’s been chasing after Cardiff City made a shock swoop for unknown French league frontman Idriss Saadi.

Slade beat the transfer deadline to seal a deal with Ligue 2 outfit Clermont for the 23-year-old former France youth international.

Nicknamed Le Taureau – The Bull – the physical goalscorer was seen as one to watch in the French lower levels before suffering knee ligament damage in January, only recently completing his comeback with Clermont.

But the Algerian qualified forward has been seemingly identified by the Bluebirds to boost their attacking options having been keen to add to their firepower all summer.

I don't know anything about him. I did'nt know anything about Toshack either until he broke into the team. Can only go one of two ways, hopefully he will give us some much needed pace. Looking forward to seeing what he has to offer.

What I like about him is the fact he can score all types of goals. He looks a good athlete, pacey, good body strength, agile, decent in the air, good technique, he looks the complete striker. I'm very excited with this signing!

Agree I thought that just hope his injury won't hold him back
