If that's true I'd accept it considering his age and wages but only if we get a decent replacement

Do you really think Slade is capable of bringing a decent striker to the club because I don't
no that's true, Slades signings seem to be lower championship quality or top league one quality

Yeah Malone really looks like league one quality at the moment.

I can't recall him winning 4, they must have been watching a different Revell

Agree.

ummm the reason that Slade isn't playing him from the start according to some on here is because he isn't fit :? even though he has played all summer in the Copa America so from that make your own assumption :thumbright:

Not playing him because 99.9% of our fans know he cannot play 90 mins even fully fit? there is the 0.1% who disagree at all cost!

Allan, Slade would rather play the headless chicken than Jones, for me, that says it all really

steve i thought you rated whitts

haha Steve good one but a complete fail

Would agree, our top goal scorer, we would need a replacement, it's probably our number one priority, a decent striker and it could be interesting !!!

Reported in the Welsh capital are still linking Wednesday with Cardiff City star striker and former loanee Kenwyne Jones.

However the Bluebirds board insist he would be allowed to leave cheaply and that stance could scupper the deal being completed.

Wednesdayites will fondly remember Jones for his loan spell with the club under then boss Paul Sturrock in the 04/05 promotion season. For younger readers he bagged seven goals in seven matches, and now the Yorkshire club are keen to take him back to Hillsborough to spearhead a Championship promotion challenge.

Wales Online understands that Owls scout and club advisor Glenn Roeder is heading up the interest in the Caribbean striker.

It was previously reported in both South Wales and South Yorkshire that The Owls initially asked about taking Jones on loan for the season. Likely to involved Cardiff continuing to sub some of his hefty wages.
A Cardiff City source told Wales Online:
'We have not had an offer letter or a verbal letter. Nothing!'

"If another club wants to sign one of our players they should make their offer and we would consider that on merit. We won`t let players go for less than we feel they are worth."

Vital Wednesday understand that former Premier League big hitter Jones only has one year left on his Cardiff City contract but the Bluebirds have stated that won't drive down his transfer price. Their gamble could see him leave on a free at the end of the current season. The hard up Bluebird did loan him to Bournemouth last season so a deal could be brokered if all parties are motivated like Wednesdayites have witness this summer with the deals for Lewis McGugan and Lucas Joao.
