Who actually believes city could go up?

With one or two additions or even a formation tweak possibly. Still need a quality striker like a Campbell. Midfield could be OK if he switched to 4-3-3 and left the two central players less exposed. Heart says yes brain says more likely not.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

No being a City fan I want to win every game. I think mid table even with this squad is an underachievement.

Who believes we will struggle ?

I don't think we will struggle and can see us just outside playoffs. Pit it this way if we are 18th in October we may see a management change as the pressure on slade will be immense from crowd.

Who is happy with our current management?

I wish slade all the best and will support him as I have done every manager at City. I really hope he succeeds as he seems an ordinary fella, hardworking and appears now to have got a team spirit that some of the more 'name' managers certainly didn't. Having met him at the signing day I was impressed in our brief conversation not a flash Harry but a good guy.

However I have doubts about whether he is tactically savvy enough in this league now and his strict adherence to 4-4-2 when it seems like we don't have the players to play it could be his undoing. I like the fact that he seems to want to attack with wingers and stikers but put centre mid isn't strong enough for this system. Also I'm not sure if we have a rooney type 10 to compliment a main striker.

I hope he proves that he is a good manager and the playoffs would be a great achievement but as said before by mid Oct if we are struggling I would say goodbye to slade.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

I don't see any alternative to Tan at the moment and at least the rebrand is reversed so I am really looking forward to the season just concentrating on football issues. If Tan wants to cut cloth and then sell then so be it but until then I am happy for him to remain and am not one to hold grudges if he does start attending games. Let's just support the team and nothing else for a while.

No chance of going up.

Mid table if we are lucky.

Tan to stay as we've no option.

We had our dream a few years ago now it's do everything on the cheap and claw money back.

We will sell and bring in mediocre players. Fact Slade is taking 100k a year says it all. You get what you pay for

Who actually believes City will go up this season ?
- If I didn't believe that City could succeed, I wouldn't turn up. Football is unpredictable and that's why I love it.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?
- I wasn't happy with mid-table last season so why would I be happy now? Play Offs should be our minimum target, our squad is more than capable of succeeding, it's just down to our management to get the best out of them.

Who believes we will struggle ?
- I think we'll do a lot better than last season.

Who is happy with our current management?
- I'm not entirely happy but Slade's doing an 'okay' job so far, if we're in a decent position (challenging for play offs) at Christmas I'm more than happy for him to continue as manager.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?
- I've wanted Tan gone since the rebrand and that still stands.

If we're financially secure and pushing for a play off that's good enough for me

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 3:37 pm

Of course ,we can get promoted , got a very strong squad ,I think there's going to be be a lot of subtle changes in attitude towards slade starting to happen around Christmas time, all the guys I know (and there's a few)who won't come on here due to the sad ones , wil keep they're wry smiles to themselves...gonna be interesting this one :bluebird:

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

Who believes we will struggle ?

Who is happy with our current management?

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

Or just sum up in a couple of lines why your positive or negative about City going in to this current season?

We all want City do well, but we all have our own beliefs and opinions :thumbright:

Who actually believes City will go up this season ?

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility but it's more likely that we'll challenge for top six and either just make it or just fall short

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

If costs are continued to be brought down and young players introduced then mid table won't be the worst result. I guess we just need to know what the club is aiming for as nobody seems to be sure

Who believes we will struggle ?

I don't

Who is happy with our current management?

I'm happy to give them the maximum chance, Slade wasn't my first choice but I respect he was the clubs and have seen some encouraging signs in his reign, hopefully we see things really take off this season

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

Absolutely as long as this is the end of all the controversy. We'd like a few quiet years now I think!

Or just sum up in a couple of lines why your positive or negative about City going in to this current season?

Positive because we have a good squad who are fit and a manager who will get the most out of them

We won't go up but on the other hand can't see us struggling - prob mid table. Not happy with our current manager or owner :thumbright:

Some on here say this forum is negative ?

The Forum itself is far from negative; it is some people that make it negative

Who actually believes City will go up this season ?

No, sadly I don't, but I would love to be proved wrong!

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

I wouldn't be 'happy' with that, as I believe this club should be 'up there' with the best!

Who believes we will struggle ?

I don't think we will 'struggle', but we need to manage expectations (something many seem unable to do)

Who is happy with our current management?

No, most certainly not! This club needs a manager who can bring together a team AND the club's fans!

Malky did that, but sadly spoiled it for himself...and us!

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

IF (and the jury is still out) he learns and we start to improve as a club, then yes. Similarly to before he came, I just don't see the queue of prospective buyers (who can invest the monies required) outside the gate!

Or just sum up in a couple of lines why your positive or negative about City going in to this current season?

Positive: We have the foundations of a 'decent' Championship side

Negative: If we sell Marshall, we will regret it IF we are serious about any Championship success this season

We all want City do well, but we all have our own beliefs and opinions :thumbright:

On this point we should all agree! :ayatollah:

Bottom 8 finish
Manager is just not good enough
The team giving it 70%
The term blood sweat and tears dont think so some just do enough
Need a general a leader to pull it all together
Fans team club all united
Something missing

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 9:21 pm

Who actually believes City will go up this season ? Nope, not under the present coaching team

Who is just happy to stay in mid table? Yep, I certainly will

Who believes we will struggle ? Not me, I think mid table possibly

Who is happy with our current management? not me, Russell slade is not up to the standard required, Paul Trollope is the holding key in the team, Scott is not upbeat enough, just walks around with his hands in his pocckets, even when I watch them train, this will have an impact on players.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us? Not me, I want rid of him.

This is not being negative in any way, just being realistic. It seems to me that in the main, the supporters who live in and around the city of Cardiff are the negative ones, those of us who live away from the city are really positive, this is only an observation with no specific evidence, just observing the supporters I know live in Cardiff itself, interesting to know other supporters observations on this.

In Swansea, love them or hate them as I do, having to live on their doorstep, they do see themselves as united in their support for their club. :bluebird:

There is a fair bit of negativity on this board but some of it is understandable. I can't see us getting in the top six with Slade in charge, but you never know maybe now the pressure is off and no high expectations we might suprise ourselves. I think if we do go up in our blue kit and the club is run sensible Tan might get a few more admirers, but for now Tan has been a bit of a disaster and for any good he's done its always overlooked for all the crap city fans have had to put up with.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table? Yes (ish)

Who believes we will struggle ? No. Comfortably out of danger, barring stupid meltdowns.

Who is happy with our current management? Not me, but there you go. It is what it is.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us? Again, no, but what was and is the alternative?

Or just sum up in a couple of lines why your positive or negative about City going in to this current season? Slade will live or die by the results over the next couple of months. If he weathers that storm well, it could be very good for the team as they feel their feet. If he has to go, who knows? There could be far worse appointed in his place, or the club could get lucky and timing could favour a very experienced manager coming in.

If we had a more dynamic and forward thinking manager....I personally believe we are only a Pacey top class striker and midfield general away from being promoted

I fully realise these won't come cheap, but when you realise how many millions we have wasted on poor signings..agent fees..excessive wages..cancelling contracts etc over the last few years..if we had run the club more professionally with the parachute payments we would be able to afford these 2 new players!!!!

We are suffering now because of past mistakes

I agree with that mate, spot on :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
