Vital Preview - QPR v Cardiff
Cardiff's Championship season continues against QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday; with this a 5:15pm kick-off for Sky Sports coverage.
The Bluebird made sure on Capital One Cup progression in midweek, adding that to a one-one draw with Fulham at the Cardiff City Stadium last Saturday. We had Craig Noone to thank of both instances!
QPR's England international, and seemingly in-demand Charlie Austin (minor niggle) needs to come through a fitness test and could join Jamie Mackie (groin) in missing out.
Clint Hill, Paul Konchesky, Tjaronn Chery and Massimo Luongo were all rested for QPR's midweek League Cup win at Yeovil but should return.
Russell Slade will almost certainly bring Noone back into the starting XI with Kenwyne Jones (calf) a possibility to return having come on as a sub in the one-nil win over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday.
Bruno Manga (knee) and Ben Turner (ankle) will sit out again but are inching closer to a return.
Having won 13 of the last 17-matches against Cardiff at Loftus Road QPR will be the favourites to win on Saturday however the Bluebird can count a record of just one defeat in the last nine away games....
Cardiff will hope for a positive result, but will this happen?
Whatever line up Slade goes with expectancy will be high.

Apparently this forum and it's Moderators are too negative so..
QPR 1-3 Cardiff City
Two from Kenwyne Jones, the best striker in the Championship apparently, and one from Anthony Pilkington.

QPR have won 13 of their last 17 home league encounters with Cardiff City (L4), keeping 10 clean sheets in the process.
Cardiff have conceded two goals in three of their last four matches against QPR (W1 D1 L2).
The Bluebirds have lost only once on the road in their last nine away games (W5 D3).
QPR have won just once at Loftus Road in the league in 2015, albeit in their most recent contest with Newcastle (D2 L6).
Cardiff have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight league games.
Charlie Austin has scored just one goal in his last 11 appearances in all competitions at Loftus Road.

This is very interesting. Thanks! I didn't realise Austin only had 1 in last 11 at Loftus Road for example. Puts a slightly different complexion on it for me now.
It all depends on stingy defence and generous attack. Can't wait now.

We must be doing headers all the time in training.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:34 pm
15 minute mark: About 50/50. Both teams have had reasonable chances. Pilkington was put through but closed down by the QPR keeper forcing a rushed finished that went no where.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:48 pm
Two average teams just like last week.
Whitts poor. Should at least have Ralls in the middle & Noone out wide...
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:49 pm
One nil qpr
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:50 pm
Half hour mark: 0-1 Cardiff were edging it then we give a soft goal away. Now once again we give ourselves an upward struggle.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:50 pm
Dreadful, two crap teams, Peltier and Connolly dire, Moore is NOT good enough
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:51 pm
Very poor from Morrison on that corner.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:53 pm
Fair play. Peltier is shocking, remind me why Fabio is on the bench behind this scouse clown? Honest to God
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:54 pm
Morrison is absolute dogshit.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:55 pm
We look very poor
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:58 pm
The team are playing like they are at the end of a long season with nothing left to play for! Pure muck

New Order wrote:Morrison is absolute dogshit.
He's not even that good
Sat Aug 15, 2015 4:59 pm
Hill got away from Morrison again
Sat Aug 15, 2015 5:01 pm
General play isn't bad, but we cannot defend set pieces at all.
Sat Aug 15, 2015 5:02 pm
Jones and noone on now
