He didn't even speak that much Welsh, only did very short bits. Not sure why that is frustrating, but hey ho. In Cymraeg's instance, haters gonna hate I suppose.

Agreed. His "Blumbrgereisog and Blodwinafanniog" used to grate on me. However irs an awful way to treat anyone, particularly after his years of loyal service. Club should be ashamed. Bye Ali!

I can assure you that he never said such a thing.

Careful boys - you'll have the politically correct Welsh Language Police after you if you're not careful.

I bet whoever takes over from Ali will continue to make the announcements whilst clearing their throat.... I mean in Welsh,as well as in English.

Wow, that is some incredibly original comedic material, right there.

Criticism of Welsh-bashing isn't politically correct, by the way.

Yet another example of showing that our club couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery! We will be a laughing stock again this season

Well I must say I'm gutted, After all the good work the club has done so far, they go and do this, have to f**k it up all the time. Very sad to see him go.

Re: STADIUM ANNOUNCER LEAVES CARDIFF

Fri Aug 07, 2015 7:41 pm

It wasnt so much his announcing I disliked (apart from the screechinh) it was more the fact the whole pre match build up, starting with the music he played which was at times soul destroying and an instant atmosphere killer

I hope he takes that half time Wayne with him

He thinks he still has to shout even tho he has a microphone

Real shame he had a passion for the club was funny back in ninan park playing step toe n son when the Millwall fans arrived and i predicted a riot as leeds arrived.

Hope we don't end up with someone like the lifeless bloke at Annfield

I just hope we don't end up with someone similar to what Kiss FM supplied when the club last got rid of Ali , they were shockingly bad

Re: STADIUM ANNOUNCER LEAVES CARDIFF

I for one know how Ali feels -- As myself for over 18 years experienced the same

and you get attached to the club and all the people behind the scenes on an every day basis stay loyal for two decades and

you give them everything and more and it just kicks you right up the Ass

:tandragon: whose given out these instructions - the club once had a pair of bollocks that stood their ground now there all :knob:

Cringeworthy and laughable at times, but day before opener?? Why?? End of season if that is what they had decided. Just baffling tbh. C'mon the city :bluescarf:

Ali's a legend. He's been sacked before and replaced by eejits...Hope he returns.

Richard Shepherd to replace him. What a backward step. Deplorable. Siomedig iawn.

Re: STADIUM ANNOUNCER LEAVES CARDIFF

I found his overuse of the Welsh language most annoying

Sad news in my opinion , they replaced him before and it was a disaster. An announcer is never going to please everyone.
I've met Ali a number of times, he is a very genuine guy, a real cardiff city fan.

Re: STADIUM ANNOUNCER LEAVES CARDIFF

Ali is a top top guy, a bluebird to the core, a lot of thought went into his broadcasting in regards to the songs he played .

A lot what he broadcast was was tongue in cheek yes maybe he overplayed his hand on occasions and became a little over bearing.

As for his use of Welsh Language did he use it to show the other side which are usually English that they are in Wales but never mind we as a Welsh nation will always pull ourselves apart due to the language that was taken away from us

I believe there is more to this than meets the eye , I hope Ali can and will give us is opinion to why he is being replaced or indeed sacked
