Bang on!

I totally agree with you both. I am not a Russell Slade fan, but how people can blame Slade for Le Fondre not scoring enough goals for us, is absolutely ludicrous. I too was amazed at how many games Slade did actually play him for, he was given every chance to score us the goals, but for whatever the reason he did not take his chances and to be honest, there were a number of easy chances that he should have put away, but he didn't. Sometimes players that have got fantastic scoring records go to a club and it just doesn't work out for them and they quickly leave at start scoring the goals again for a different club. It has happened with some of the strikers that we have signed in the past, players that scored goals for fun but when they came here they couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Players like:- Kurt Nogan, Tony Philliskirk, Andy Saville and one or two more. These players were renowned for their goalscoring in the lower leagues, but when they joined us the goals seemed to dry up. It works like that sometimes.

Anyway, good luck to Le Fondre and I hope things work out for him. It's just a shame that things didn't work out for him and for us fans, as we are dying to have a real quality goalscorer at the club. We thought that it would be Le Fondre, it wasn't so we should all just move on and forget about him now, as he is no longer a City player. Yes, he may only be on loan to Wolves, but I can't see him ever coming back here and I think in January that Wolves will make the move permanent.

Bloooooobirds.

Many strikers who don't start well often struggle to succeed.
We weren't playing well or creating much and by the time he started to get a few chances on a regular basis, his confidence was shot to bits.
He did quite well at Bolton and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him do well at Wolves.
Anybody remember what position he played first game last season and a few after?
I'm no Slade fan but don't think he's to blame here, Alf had plenty of chances under Slade, just didn't work out.

Allan, Loved at Reading and Bolton, be interesting how he does at Wolves.

He'll fly at Wolves.

I think so, he is a proven scorer.
It's down to management in my opinion.

100% Annis - fuming actually !! :sladeout:

You need to look at the bigger picture and see that he started every game under Slade until we loaned him out in January and was forever offside and diving! He may well have been played in a formation that didn't suit his style of play however, but he still had a shitload of chances and goal scoring chances with us, which he fecked up!

The bigger picture, is under Slade he failed, but not under other managers.

Michael Chopra was immense for us as was Jay Bothroyd, but not so great under all the other managers they played for. Does that mean Dave Jones was a fantastic and brilliant manager or were all the other managers they played for crap?

some players just don't work out but you have to admit, he had enough chances with our team and failed.

That’s the smaller picture you’re looking at, as he was also shit under Ole!

If you’re saying that Slade was at fault for his performances in a Cardiff shirt, are you also saying that Slade must have coached him to dive, get caught offside so often and feck up the many good goal scoring chances he had for us?

He was also given far more chances than the likes of Macheda, who was deemed lazy and a failure for us in a lot of people’s eyes, even though he had a better goal scoring record for us than Le Fondre. Let’s be honest here, he masqueraded as a goal scorer during his time at Cardiff and having been afforded every opportunity to earn his not so little wages and show what he was getting paid to do, i.e., put the ball in the back of the net, he fecked it up!

What I’d like to know is, how come you keep on saying that Slade will always have your support whilst he’s manager and you want him to prove you wrong by being a success at Cardiff, when you continue to take every opportunity to slag him off and blame him for matters beyond his control?
