The best creative midfielder in the championship and you say he's past it and yet your hero Slade is building his team around him, Steve you're deluded.
The dragon bit was a joke by the way as I knew it would wind up the Tan lovers and I was right ;-) anyway you hit the nail on the head, it's his dragon so why the f**k is it on a Cardiff City badge? Answers on a postcard please. He shouldn't have screwed around with the badge in the first place but that's another story. Hmmmmmmmm :sladeout: I really hope Slade does well and takes us up the league and if he does I will be the first to say I was wrong but I very much doubt it.

The way that some of our managers have tried to play Whitts is like trying to play Wayne Rooney at centre half!

He has been a loyal quality player for us and deserves respect

Some of the leeches and self absorbed players that have passed through this club make me angry
But not Whitts.

Many many more good games than bad ones. Just play him correctly, as Graham Kavanagh he isn't :ayatollah:

I'd be really interested to know where people think this guy should play? He's obviously not a striker nor defender. He's a midfielder. He's too slow for a winger and he hasn't the skill nor movement to be a no.10. He hasn't the defensive capabilities to play on the midfield flanks. I genuinely can't see where we can play him other than CM and he hasn't exactly lit any fires there. I hear this complaint all the time that he's being played out of position and I'm at a loss to see where else he could fit in! :sladeout:

Phil, are you seriously saying that Whitts has no skill? He is an attacking midfielder and that is where he is most effective, he has a football brain so it's not his fault if some players are not on his wavelength which makes him look shit when he can't pick a pass and loses the ball, it's not his fault when he has not so good players around him which makes him look shit. He does have off days but what player don't??

I think the no.10 position (if that position is an attacking midfield/playmaker position) is exactly suited to Peter Whittingham.

Hi Steve, no I'm not saying he's without skill, that would be crass. However, you know I think him very overrated. His best skills are longer range passing, crossing and, even now, taking set pieces. But a number 10? Never in a million years! A good number 10 needs to have quick vision, nimble passing ability and pace and guile to get into forward attacking areas. They need to be able to link the rest of the midfield with the strikeforce quickly and efficiently. Whittingham, I fear has none of these attributes. He would be picked off relentlessly by even mediocre defenders because he is so slow and ponderous. Also, remember a good number 10 spends a lot of his time with back to goal and has a sixth sense of the positioning of his striker partner. I see nothing of this abikity in PW. Kim was probably the best exponent of this art we have had at the club recently and I don't assume even you would compare Whittingham to him. However, for me, another nail in his coffin in terms of number 10 is why on earth would we need him in that position when we already have a natural no 10 who is better thsn him in that position anyway...Joe Mason. Remember by theway, Whittingham started and finished at Aston Villa as a winger and that's his natural position. However, he is too slow and long in the tooth to play at that position anymore. You and I both agree on Slade being a wanker, but one thing thst annoys me more with him than anything is that he keeps on picking Whittingham regardless, gane after game. It does my f...ing head in! :sladeout:
