Are the plans for a proposed large airport in Newport (I believe) mothballed or shelved?

Thanks mad-one. The purchase of the airport by the Welsh taxpayer had disaster written all over it from the start and just watching more and more of our taxes being ploughed into it constantly is just a prime example that welsh politicians are great in spending other people's money

Rumoured that another airline wants to open up 10 new routes! Trouble is does airport keep a single destination airline who is already here, or choose larger carrier with more scope for expansion at cost to smaller airline?
