Its those that have chosen Welfare as a career that must be halted.

It was set up as a safety net, but has been abused. Deciphering the needy and abusers is a difficult job, which labour has never had he stomach for. The country are nowhere near as daft as the dumbed down media want to believe. They choose this option, as the Tories under Cameron are probably the best tool to do this job.

Labour grandee's can spin it as much as they like. We were not scared by the SNP, we were scared by the thought of Milliband leading the country.

The UK is a centre right country, veer too far from this and the politician are knackered.

Champagne socialists are half the reason why labour have lost the trust of the traditional working class. The party drifted from the Daily Mirror values to those of the Guardian. People like Charlotte do not know what its like living on Ball road with £40 to get you through the week.

You need to provide some facts and figures to back this up. There will always be waste in any big organisation but I haven't heard the Welsh tories complaining of lots of wasted money in the Welsh NHS. Unlike in England where they have wasted £billions......

"The Government’s reorganisation of the NHS was its biggest “mistake”, senior Conservatives have reportedly admitted.

Labour has pledged to repeal the “toxic” 2012 Health and Social Care Act, which saw a major restructuring of how the NHS is funded. Some claim the bill was designed to pave the way for private firms to take over much of the running of the health service or even its privatisation.

Experts said the reorganisation, which is estimated to have cost about £3bn, had caused “profound and intense” damage to the NHS with one saying former Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, would be facing disciplinary action if he had been a doctor.

A senior Cabinet minister told The Times newspaper: “We’ve made three mistakes that I regret, the first being restructuring the NHS. The rest are minor.”

Re: Charlotte Church

I see Charlotte regular visiting the childrens hospital down the heath where I work she is strong supporter of the NHS and the noahs ark charity for the childrens hospital.

I have a lot of time for people like her unlike other rich pricks who do nothing for their local areas and just do not pay tax and to say people who moan about the tories are scroungers when I have worked all my life and paid tax since I left school plus all my family work but hate the bloody tories but we are not scroungers just believe what we believe and will fight for it too and that is the NHS fight against zero hour contacts and all other attacks by this government on working low paid people who pay their taxes and are getting penalised for the rich who do not pay their taxes or millionaire bankers who make a mess and have lotto wins for a bonus.

I have kept quiet on here as I thought this was a football forum but its turning into a political one which is going be fun as us lot on here cannot agree how our beloved Cardiff city we argue over players managers 442 352 451 club money chairmen owner etc so I think we should keep to the football arguments and respect what ever any of us support or vote the good thing about this country is free speech but that seems to be going too

Re: Charlotte Church

No party in the UK represents the working man. They are all in the pockets of the corporate elite. They do as their told and if they don't, they get torn a new one in the press owned by the corporate elite. Ask Mr Miliband. He found that out. Now labour will return to Blair politics. They're all organised Mafia.

Anyone who thinks Cammie and his chums care about Wales or the ordinary man is either on some mind bending drug or plain stupid. We are a backwater and no Tory cares about us oiks.As for Labour I can only think of one MP who is old school - Alan Johnson, a postman. They are equally adrift of the ordinary person. In the summer of 2014 I had a twenty minute discussion with Stephen Kinnock I expressed the opinion that Ed Miliband was "unelectable".He strongly disagreed.Well we have to live daily in the real world and it is going to get tough, especially for the poor. Over one million people use foodbanks daily, are they all winos and deadbeats? No 85% of them work.So for all you true blues we are the sixth richest country in the world and a country where "Save the Children" is active. Many of us have children can you imagine the thought of beggingfor food weekly to feed the kids; it is a disgusting reflection on the couldn't care less f**k you I am alright philosophy which now permeates our society

Yes, I do know what estimate means so just in the interest of fairness here is something else for you to consider. It backs up the same figure in the other report:

"NHS reforms will cost £3bn and will not work: academic

Reform of the NHS planned under the government's white paper will cost around £3bn without saving money or improving patient care, a leading academic has warned in the British Medical Journal."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/ ... demic.html

The point is that Annis raised the subject of waste in the Welsh NHS but with no evidence to back it up. However, here we see neutral evidence of the waste in the English NHS as well as senior tories admitting to the mistakes made by their party and the terrible waste of money. As for the £3 billion to refurbish the Palace of Westminster....well what can we say about that?? These tories certainly know how to spend our money wisely don't they!!

Losing the argument is not the same as losing/wasting £3 billion (the words of senior tories, not mine and the words of medical academics).

Anyway you miss the point. What Alun Davies was talking about was the non stop barrage of attacks in parliament by the tories against the NHS in Wales. They had a massive national (UK) platform and used it to lambast the Labour run NHS in Wales. Effectively they made the Welsh NHS into a political football knowing full well that the lies which they trotted out (and most of the stuff were lies) would never get any national coverage when the Welsh Government rebuffed the unfair slurs, including the one about Offa's Dyke being the line between life and death. The Nuffield Report which looked into the NHS in the four countries of the UK said that there was not much to choose between them so the tories were cherry picking certain statistics to suit themselves.

At the end of the day we all know there are problems with the Welsh NHS but most of them are to do with the fact that it is underfunded as the London government is cutting our block grant in real terms by around 10% each year so how can they be expected to keep spending the same. It's a massive organisation and I'm sure there will be examples of waste but not on the scale of the £3billion wasted by the English NHS which you fail to comment about.

Let's have a look at things in a few years time when more of the English NHS will be privatised. At least Welsh Labour have said they will not be going down that road.

Where are the quotes? I've produced quotes from tories saying they made big mistakes with their NHS reorganisation in England which blew £3 billion. Quite an admission don't you think? The tories in England also want to waste another £3 billion on refurbishing the Palace of Westminster. Awesome! Why don't you worry about that then? It smashes the waste by the WAG.

You do know what the term 'estimated' means do you ? Which being that it's a newspaper story would more than likely be nowhere near that

Just Now on BBC Wales News

Alun Davies AM Labour
Former Labour Minister

"We have lost the argument regarding what the Conservatives have said about our management of the Welsh NHS"

His words not mine :thumbright:

I honestly believe the NHS is in safe hands,if it is not at the end of 5 years, I will slate the Tories myself :thumbright: :thumbright:

Fair enough....we'll have to watch this space.....for the next FIVE years.

The NHS in England will be reformed under the Tories and long term it will benefit. Here in Wales will only see it getting worse and worse.

People need to realise that there is nothing wrong wwith reforming the NHS as long as it benefits the public. The Labour line of 'no,no,no' surely is not good financial management.
