Russell Slade is obsessed with stats and it is something he relies heavily upon as part of his management. In his office the walls and his desk are covered by stats on players and performances.
His stats reveal that Fabio cost the team 6 goals last season.
Slade believes statistically Scott Malone is the best option as left back more than any other player in the squad.
Peter Whittingham is by far the best for passing stats.
Slade evaluates his stats and picks his team using them.
Is this really how Slade picks his team, using stats ?
Surely if stats are that important to Slade, he must recognise the possession stats are nowhere near what they should be too ?

Fabio, is one of my favourite players, makes mistakes, but makes up with it,with his quality and passion![]()
Totally agree! Stats are only a tool to be used alongside actual observations and gut instinct. Play by statistics and become a statistic.

That's a shocking statistic for a first team regular winger
