Re: Bluebirds unite will have numerous meetings with Dalman

Has she been voted on to the trust? I thought she was given a position but has to stand when the elections come around.
Can anyone clarify the situation?

News to me that Sian now "leads the Trust".

I must have missed that bit at all the Trust board meetings I attend

mate, she is a committee member and speaks for the trust as well as BU :ayatollah:

But that is simply not true. As a Trust board member I should know. I don't know where you got your view from but it is not an accurate one.

Sian volunteered many months ago to assist the Trust board with events promotion and organisation and was co-opted onto the board to do this with the intention of putting herself forward for a vote by Trust members to choose whether or not she should become a full board member.Without membership approval,no one can be a full board member.

Unfortunately, due to work commitments taking her away from the area,Sian has not had time to carry out her role and has not put herself forward for election. She has never been a full board member for the Trust , nor has she ever been its official spokesperson

mate thats true, she's out with us her mates in the Canton sports bar :ayatollah:

Sian is most definitely not a member of the Trust board (as I say she didn't stand for election) nor is she it's spokesperson on anything. If she is with you now you can easily check that what I say in my posts is true.

Is she still a part time member of the board, and if so why?
Does she have access to the trusts Twitter account?

Sian is not a member of the board at all. By part time I assume you mean is she a board member sometimes (no- you can't just dip in and out of serving on the board) rather than part time in that she does another job as well (all Trust board members are volunteers but also hold down jobs or are retired).

I have no idea if Sian has access to the Twitter account .However, after enquiring of other board members, I am told it was not her involved in the exchanges with Steve Borley (for the record it wasn't me either as I dislike Twitter and Facebook and never use them.

I see that one of the few people who actually had the courage to put her head above the parapet (and subject herself to a mountain of personal abuse..) is back in the firing line.

I didn't agree with all of Bluebirds Unite methods - the Facebook site was definitely an Achilles heel - but on the whole, BU were the principal body that at least managed to stir some passion and pride in the club's long established identity amongst an otherwise pitifully apathetic fanbase. No mean feat when the vast majority were only too willing to see tradition abandoned for a shot at the big time, because that's really what acceptance of the rebrand boiled down to.

Sure, some people - including one or two in this thread - still suggest that BU needed to take a more pragmatic view and look at the bigger picture. Well, as far as I can see, Cardiff City are now a club with greatly increased debt and a disinterested fanbase exemplified by a steep drop off in season tickets.

Some pragmatic view, some 'bigger picture.'

Sorry but BU accomplished nothing of note. The rewriting of history is funny

Some publicity but mainly poor. Dalman told Tan to change back last season.

Cardiff City's absent fans in The FA cup 3rd round caused the turnaround......simple economics

Problem is most of BU wanted to watch us on the tele because they were protesting   ......Next season they'll still be protesting over something.......

#NOBLUENORENEW accomplished more in a month than Bu in their entire existence. That speaks volumes for Sian and her disciples.

Nobluenorenew was used as it was thought that Tan would never reverse the rebrand. In actuality it's no premiership no renew.

Tend to agree with you although I would not go so far as BU accomplished nothing.

The only effort that came out of the supporters in support of the blue was BU. To note nothing else came out, don't recall the Trust making much effort although they had a mandate to do it from their membership. Don't recall the supporters club doing anything but that is not their purpose in life. One or two said their protest was to continue wearing blue but how many did that?

Aas far as I'm concerned BU were the only ones and although some of their actions were heavily criticised, easy to criticise, basically they were the only outstanding group to support the blue.

I broadly agree with at least some of that. As you've written, Tan returned the club to blue for economic reasons - the sharp drop in numbers actually attending matches was clearly a wake up call. However, BU do deserve plenty of credit for initially being the only body seriously prepared to keep the traditional identity on the agenda.
