they have ten games all within 110 miles from the home stadium that will account for their support but ours is way down this season

Corky, We are a massive City, surrounded by at least a million people who have no club other than City to support.
Rotherham are like a village compared to us,as you say they are surrounded by many other places who support their local clubs.
In the 80s Rotherham would take barely 30 fans to Cardiff. Yet we would take away hundreds compared to them.
We potentially are a Premier League supported club, whilst Rotherham can never be.

Norwich double us,but they travel far do they not?

"surrounded by at least a million people who have no club other than City to support". You are deluded. There's an established premier league club just 40 miles away. And it's great to see so many youngsters growing up the valleys who support Swansea these days.

We have the Valleys and from here to Hereford, plus Bridgend, parts of Port Talbot/Neath etc and even as far as Tenby. We also have a massive fan base in London and other areas up North :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Swansea dont compare with our fanbase :thumbright: :thumbright:

I have managed to make it to one away game this season and I can't see me making it to anymore for the rest of the season and it's purley down to money.

Also, going on what the other poster said regarding the census, I know loads of people who love their football but do not give a shit about the city and will not waste their time and money going to watch them.

People need to realise we are not this huge club with this massive fan base that some supporters will have you think.

Totally agree,Football is over priced, but so are places like Rotherham and Boro poor areas.
When we were in the Prem, £50 tickets at some away games and our fans paid it.

Glory seekers pushing out real fans - We barely sold out during the prem and never in the championship. If you wanted a ticket it was there. Getting away ticket without the requirements made it very difficult for newbies to jump on the away bandwagon

Red kit - It was red for the 2 season before when we sold out a lot of game in the PREMIER league

Rebrand pushing hard core fans - No real eveidence that a lot of hardcore left during the first season of the rebrand

My view - Its just a case of after the lord mayors show. Bottled up frustration with the club, relegated to the championship, with shit football.... Wolves and fulham had good turnouts early season. I think most fahns want this season to end and develop that "hope" you get during the off season that this may be our year again.......

Just so you know, we sold out at 90% of our away games last season(the amount of tickets we asked for or were given).
Many of those fans have not bought tickets since we were relegated.

told myself i wouldnt go to another away game again after the debacle at Palace last season. Have recently been getting the itch to get back into it though.

perhaps next season, but its hard enough to watch this rubbish 20 minutes from home. even harder when it costs a lot of time and money travelling the country.

While we are at a massive disadvantage with the logistics, we have a big advantage against the smaller clubs. It's all stats again though, you get a few local Derbys in the midlands , forest vs derby and Leeds vs Huddersfield and Shef weds where they are allowed 5,000 and the average goes through the roof. It's been a tough year all round, I wouldn't get upset about it, just enjoy it

I think it shows what size of club we really are, I wouldn't class us as a small club, but no way are we anywhere near being a big club, we probably sit some where in the middle a mid size club with a core support when times are bad of about 8k :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
