If Adkins is being lined up then it shows a total lack of class on our part. I'm not Slade's biggest fan at all but to so publicly display his attendance at the game, it would really disappoint me.

Could he potentially be lined up as a director of football?

He will be doing some scouting work whilst between jobs, a lot of managers do this when out of work.

He's here for a reason, maybe he requested Trollope so he could be his assistant ?

It seems absurd that we would be giving a potential future rival manager a freebie to scout us out and help him understand more how to beat us. I thought we were cost cutting as well?!

It's custom for all scouts to receive tickets for games, it's been done for years and years. How do you think scouts get tickets? Our scouts or coaching staff will have the same customs given when they are scouting teams

I agree with your opening statement. But surely Tan is cutting costs not adding to them.

Cardiff City set to swoop for Nigel Adkins?

BY SAM ROURKE ⋅ FEBRUARY 18, 2015 ⋅
Former Southampton and Reading manager Nigel Adkins was present at the Cardiff City Stadium during the Welsh side’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers last night, according to Wales Online.

Adkins was spotted at the Cardiff City Stadium last night

This has subsequently created rumours that Cardiff will replace Russell Slade with the Birkenhead-born manager.

Adkins sat in the director’s box at the stadium alongside Cardiff chief executive Ken Choo, director Steve Borley and under-21 development manager Kevin Nicholson.

Slade has only managed to win one of his last 12 league games in charge of the Sky Bet Championship club, and he is growing under increased pressure and scrutiny.

The 49-year-old manager was sacked by Reading on December 15th 2014, and has been without a club since.

The Berkshire club had been on a poor run of form under Adkins and the side lost 6-1 away at Birmingham City, which subsequently proved to be the final straw for the former Southampton boss.

When Wales Online pressed the Welsh club about Adkins being at the match, they responded saying that Adkins was just a guest at the match.

Cardiff have gone six games without a win in the Sky Bet Championship, with their last victory coming against Fulham on the 10th January.

The Bluebirds played out a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers last night, with former Cardiff striker Rudy Gestede notching a 90th minute winner to deny Russell Slade’s men a victory.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Cardiff City manager Russell Slade said:

“It is frustrating we did not get all three points but that was a much better performance.

“There are signs of improvement and the pity is we were punished on the only occasion where we did not defend properly.”

I think adkins would make a great manager at Cardiff. His records at Southampton and Scunthorpe were very good. I have no idea why he was at the game, in all likelihood he probably was just there scouting but who knows.

Excellent eecord, but he'll need to be allowed to rebuild top to bottom and given a couple of years to do so.

Our fans will be calling for his head in 4 months.

After the first loss more like :laughing6:

No only joking, I think he would get a little bit of time, because at least he would have had a reasonable amount of relevant experience, it is a much different situation than Slades....
