I'm glad that your not using the 150 million figure you were saying only a few months ago ,it will be very interesting what our financial position is in the latest set of accounts and of course next year's

That's good then Annis! maybe things going in right direction for us to be sold?

Allan, I will work it out, it could even be half that Now :thumbright: :thumbright:

All the better Annis despite crap that's gone on we are in better place financially ready to be sold! But maybe after the cuts tan will have another go at premier but this time with proper structure in place? Stranger things have happened especially now minumum payment will be 100m in premier? :o

The only prob is Allan, Premier League is now a fairy tale to us and far away than ever now.

No. I don't want another big owner. When will we learn? I want us to go down a division or two, cut cloth accordingly and become a club that is financially sound with a fans stake in the club. The sooner we get rid of the mad men, hit the financial brick wall that is inevitably going to happen, and start rebuilding the better. The club is the fans, not no Malaysians or Americans and the sooner we reclaim what is rightfully ours the better.

What part of 'we are already going to hit the financial brick wall' is difficult to understand? We're going to end up in administration eventually anyway. Tan is going take out what he can and will either sell up or just leave. Nobody is stupid enough to buy a club in our situation so that leaves us left to pick up the pieces.

Where did I say I WANT us relegated? I never. I will speak to you like a child if you struggle to read and take uneducated implications from text in a manner a KS2 pupil would. My statement was made on the premise that I believe we WILL go down a division or two, not that I expressively WANT that to happen. I'd rather us stay up and cut cloth but it's unrealistic and unfeasible.

In all seriousness though, would everyone prefer to be a self-sufficient club that never gets to the top of the pyramid, or find an Ambramovich figure who invests not for profiteering but success for his team, hmmm :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Personally, I would go for self-sufficient, reasonable pricing for fans etc

Re: ' AMERICAN BILLIONAIRE WANTS A CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB '

Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:40 am

Ambramovich doesnt invest for the success of the team. He invests so that once the team is successful he can stroke his own ego and die with a legacy. He will always be remembered as the guy that delivered Chelsea the Premier League, the Champions League and numerous honours. Somehow, I think thats a more appealing legacy than Russian billionaire and politician with links to the soon to be notorious Vladimir Putin.

Dont delude yourself for once second that the majority of these owners are in it for the fans. They're in it for themselves, just like any other businessman.

Re: ' AMERICAN BILLIONAIRE WANTS A CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB '

Mon Feb 16, 2015 3:26 pm

I think people forget what a marketable commodity our club has become.

For a start, there has been a lot of free publicity in recent years around the world, some of it negative generated by Tan, but I think people underestimate the power of that season in the Premier League in the USA - its followed a lot more closely than I realised until I went to visit last year.

Also, we have a ready made stadium with a suitable capacity for the Premier League, as well as what are already more than adequate training facilities. Look at the problems small clubs with small stadia have had in recent years. Our West Wales neighbours would love to own the same facilities we have instead of renting a pitch off the council.

The level of debt is irrelevant - it is how you service that debt that counts. Manchester United have much more debt than us, but they haven't done too badly despite a dip in form in the last 2 seasons.

The question would be, how much does Mr Tan want and over what period of time? It is only when we have to start paying him back that the club needs to worry. Be careful what you wish for, people.
