I think he would be out on loan if it wasn't for the fact he's been a part of the match day squad recently.

Playing a level down with less pressure regularly would help us see if he has it or not.

Unfortunately he's versatile and as such handy to have around and on the bench.

Exactly, we know he has the physical attributes of a top player, it's the mental and technical side fans are not sure of. It was unfair to of subjected him to Premier League football when he couldn't cope.

This would of been his season ideally if he was managed properly. Loan spell in L1 last season, in our first team 11 this. Sadly there is no plan or structure for young players to blossom here

Declan John is a very young and talented player and IMO that's just what we're missing at the moment. Slade hasn't got a clue Slade Out !

Declan played in about 20 Premier League games for us, might not be everyones cup of tea, but he is a talented kid,well up for it and gives his all, City are struggling big time, yet Declan has not only been dropped from the starting line up,but even the subs bench and was told to train with the kids for a while.

Declan is a home grown player which means he is going to give his all.

I don't get Slade he doesn't play players with quality , I don't understand how he can pick Malone over Fabio who has a champions league medal and Declan who I I think is a better player than Malone, Malone offers next to nothing going forward while the other 2 are good attacking Full backs . I know some people will say that Fabio isn't the best defender but lets remember when he was dropped he was our player of the season up to then, he had a bad game at Bolton and his been out in the cold ever since. That's a good point.
There doesnt seem to be a long or even medium term strategy here at all.
The club won't get anywhere if the people who run it don't know where they want to go or how they intend to get there. Same as any other business.

Everything about the club at the moment seems to just be a reaction.
The board should actively be putting a vision in place and then looking for the man to do it and then backing this man to bring in his own structure and team to do it.
Then clearly communicating with the fans what the plan is and how it is going to be achieved. Get the fabs to buy in to his ideas and then we can pull forward as 1.

Developing our own young players, and there is plenty of talent in South Wales, should be an integral part of it.
Links with local lower league clubs to get experience for these guys as the develop, clubs who are willing to buy in to our clubs philosophy, would be an important part of the structure.

Lets all be honest here, Slade is failing beyond and players like Declan John are not been given the chance, so Slade cant be right.

I agree with 3-5-2 formation could work with fabio, John having the energy and legs to work wb role

While I agree slade hasn't a clue I also don't think John is good enough, ive rarely been impressed by him. should be out on loan.
