Yes i agree with you about other players' lack of movement and that is why we have to go with Adeyemi and Ralls as the midfield pairing in a 4-4-2 formation, as they have both got the legs and with Adeyemi he has the energy to go box to box. However, Peter Whittingham is the worst out of all of the players for his lack of movement as far to many times he is just static. That is why Swansea and Bournemouth are so good because as soon as all of their players once they have passed the ball are constantly always on the move. You watch their midfielders closely the next time you see either of them play. Then watch our midfielders closely to see what happens when one of our players play the ball. You will see what is one of the main problems with Whittingham playing in the middle of the park. He has never had the game to have been played in his current position on a regular basis. When we won the Championship under Malky, the last few games of that season Whittingham was dropped and we had Kimbo, Mutch and Gunnarson as our midfield 3 and we were much better in that are because Whittingham was no longer in the starting line up. Ivremember the 0-0 draw away at Watford who were untouchable at home as they scored bucket fulls of goals, however we stopped them scoring that day and that was mainly because we had the legs, movement and a committed midfield, which at least the Watford midfield. We even had a few chances ourselves to win that day. That was the first time that i was confident in our midfield all that season. But, then somehow Whittingham finds his way back in midfield and we start to struggle again. The only way that a 3 man central midfield with Whittingham included can work, is if we have two defensive midfielders protecting the back four and Whittingham playing just behind the striker in the Number 10 role. Where he only has to worry about the attacking side of his game and where he may start to get more goals and more assists again, like he used to. I still feel that he can be a regular for us, but only when he plays much further up the field.

I am surprised that slade picks Whitts, far too talented for the football Slade is dishing out.
I love the way Ralls gets better and better every week he doesn't play. Ademyemi hasn't completed a pass of any note as far as i can remember but he runs a lot so that should satisfy you.
Do you know that we only won 4 games out of our last 15 in the promotion year !!!!
I agree about swansea though, Whitts would suit them far more than us......

Whittingham is a liability, pure snd simple. Hes too slow, lethargic and powder puff. He's very over rated, as is his passing ability. Hes ok but not great. He just hasn't the speed of thought and execution to be effective. Agreed that we are not overrun with talent in the side but midfield is our main problem and all concerned are slow and lack dynamism, but Whittingham in particular. And by the way the more chances you get at putting over corners and free kicks, the more likely you are to get assists; thats just simple mathematics. However his obvious skill at taking set pieces should not disguise his major failings in the area we need to rectify the most.

I hate to say it but Swansea and Bournemouth both have their systems down to a tee, they have brought in specific players to fit the system they BELIEVE in. Like I asked before what is our system ? From where I'm watching I see no system and no game plan, the players looked lost out there. It's a managers job to get the best out of his players, Whittingham is a proven top end championship midfielder that can produce goals and assists, Slade needs to utilise his best attributes rather than take them away.
Cost cutting fair enough but we can't get rid of every player that is out of form. Even with the squad we have now we should be nailing down a system that suits the players and something we can build on for next season. Plenty of teams have done it a tight budget, I'm not asking for promotion, just a bit of progress.

Releasing Kim is a terrible decision.

Absolutely spot on Phil. We should have been building our team on players like him and Daehli!

Kim was a decent player, letting him go on free was a bad decision. Their a decent player in him .
