I like that. I was thinking of adding Malaysian sun's as they're small and might be able to be overlooked.
Yeah it also gave me a chance to bring in the daffodil too which helps balance the badge out.
I was just about to add that it was nice balance between the Welsh / Malaysian
A little worried that they expect more Malaysian elements... But I'm not big on their culture so I don't know.ow what else there is. Having a read up on it tomorrow.

I think GSO and Karl are working along the rights lines. A simple Bluebird will do.
GSO needs to remove the shield and replace it with a circle (had a complete tit full of shields/ badges within shields etc etc)
And Karl... Get rid of the dragon and replace with the founded date and I reckon you're almost there. The crescent moon icon incorporated looks ok. Maybe a little Pompey-esk but I could live with that.
Mon Jan 12, 2015 8:29 pm
Ha ha! I was getting ready to say no way, but that's pretty good.
I prefer the one you did with the dragon though.
Our badge is important to me. The club have got to get it right this time.

Doesn't matter really though! As far as Carl's update is concerned VT has got mehmet and Ken sourcing the badges from a design agency.. I dread to think!
Mon Jan 12, 2015 8:58 pm
At least there is a lot more effort for the badge this time round.

I'll be a happy man, if they stay true to our identity / history. It's done professional and fans get a say in it.

The Bluebird looks too big. The writing at the top doesnt need to be curved.
Having the bluebird overlaid on a golden sun might look good.

Cool, all good points. I was thinking th writing could be straightened
didn't think anybody would complain about the bluebird being too BIG though! lol
I'll have a play aroud with a Sun / Bird mock tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback

Replace one of the footballs with Mama Tan's portrait?
Got to show to respect for Vinny.

The club should really just use the pre rebrand badge.
It's a design they already have so they won't have to waste money on designing a new one, and as others have said : "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!".
Down in one of the Merch shops underneath 112 they were selling hats with the old badge on it. Genuinely like that one too!

Really like it. The Malaysia suns look like the Pompey badge.
We can pretend it's nothing to do with Malaysia and instead commemorates the taking of Pompey's clock!

The main iconic symbol used for Malaysia is not a dragon but a pair of tigers.
Maybe Karl could knock something up with the Bluebird in its circle being supported either side by the tigers?
ie. illustrating Tan's support for us.

Fair play Karl, even though I'm against anything to do with Malaysia incorporated on our club badge, I really really like that design. You have a real talent mate.

Sorry fellahs, I just don't get it ??
I don't understand why this " est.1899 " stuff is on the beermat.
Cardiff City Football Club were formed on September 5th 1908 - Not 1899.
Riverside FC (Cricket Club) were established in 1899, Not Cardiff City. Cardiff City Football Club did not exist in 1899.
Riverside FC played in the Cardiff & District League for three years and amalgamated with rivals Riverside Albion AFC in 1902 to become a much stronger team, but it wasn't until 1905 when Cardiff was granted City status that they first applied to become Cardiff City football club. Unfortunately, they were turned down as they did not meet the criteria set by the authorities, but three years later on September 5th 1908 they were granted permission and Cardiff City AFC were born.
The club know their history only too well so why 1899 on the badge ?

I like our old badge. I love it in fact.
Also, the club needs to take into account all of CCFC our tattoos

I have three!

Riverside = Cardiff City
It was literally the same club, all they did was change the name, everything else ran through.
