And I have to say I'm disappointed with this so called love in with Vinny and his Mummy. Do you honestly believe he turned us back to blue because of his dear old Mam ? Nah it was a very good spin on it and very clever of Vinny. Let's make me look the good guy because of my Mummy. Come on guys he turned us back because he didn't have a choice. I am not saying to abuse him I'm not, just please realise why Vinny turned us back and it ain't got sod all to do with his mam.

The cost cutting and player sales started way before returning to blue. Tan was going down this avenue regardless

absolutely correct

Yep, balanced book and possible 20,000 STs. Looking good for a sale.

I really don't think so. Realistically, Tan is not going to be able to sell the club for the price he needs, (around £140m as I cant see him settling for a loss) until we return to the premier league and have survived for at least a year. No matter how good the P+L looks in the championship, the value of the club all comes down to the balance sheet and projected future earnings (just by selling 20k Season tickets for next season this wont make the club worth £140m). "Balancing the books" as you put is is not going to improve our financial position, only prevent us from running into more debt to tan by ensuring he doesn't need to keep pumping more money into the club every month just to keep us running.

I think Tan has finally now learned that throwing money at the situation wont guarantee success in football and I believe he is finally going to try and go about it the right way and willing to stick it out until we get to the premier league. After all he can bide his time to get his money back - he's not exactly short of cash. That why he will never take a loss by selling us while we are in the championship

I have been longing for the club for years to be run self sufficiently and hopefully this is the route we are heading towards, however this cannot just be done overnight.

A good point there.

The operative words here are "getting back into the premier". League one manager and cheap players.......we could be in for a long run.

This has turned out to be a really interesting thread, with some excellent points, especially from Castleblue and TaffEmbankment.

IMHO, it was obvious that as soon as OGS departed & VT took control, cost cutting measures we're put in place,,a financial action plan was then set, & will remain in place until, for want of better words, our club financially recovers.

That process is going to take a number of years I think. It's important to get our "house" in order,,,for only then will we look an attractive acquisition to outside investors, & VT will then be in a much better position to sell his shares.

In the mean time, it's business as usual, and a massive part of that business was the reversal of the ridiculous re-brand, as this surely was going to damage & debase the financial action plans put in place a few months ago.
Any business worth it's salt will listen to its customer base, & give them what they want,,,at a price of course.

We now, as has been said, need a period of stability, in order to build, & in order to develop & progress. This all has to be achieved within our own financial means, that's the important & relevant point. Our club has to be run & managed on an independent financial basis,,,other football clubs have achieved that status, so must we.

There's no way we will achieve Premiership status next season, but there's no harm in trying either.

Change like the weather on here, it was only last week that everyone ITK was telling how Tan would never dream of changing us back  over his dead body, would it happen, he is a dictator who is spiteful and now wants to punish Cardiff fans for disrespecting him :laughing6:
Let's be honest Nukes, like the rest of us, no one knows what Tan is about. What I will say, is that I think his Xmas day speech had a lot to do with it. I thought the whole mum story was BS, but when I mentioned the whole saga to my Mrs, she pointed out that what if his mother had taken him to task over deliberately trying to antagonise us supporters, maybe after seeing that she did in fact pose him questions as why he was actually continuing with the rebrand, bad Karma and all that

The end of last season I said that Tan was on the verge of turning us bak to Blue. But I also said we had to turn the screw. But we went quiet very quiet. He was looking for a way to turn us back so he didnt loose face. I was right on that one ro. Didnt know why at the time but now I do. Boom
