In the 70/71 season when we almost made the top flight we averaged around 21,500 crowds. When the club sold Toshack to Liverpool and loads of fans thought the club had no ambition, the crowds dropped remarkably, around 16,000 average the following season and around 9,000 average the season after that. Fans were pissed off at the club back then, now history is about to repeat itself imo.
Yep, da ja vu.
And it feels like yesterday.
My memory is a bit hazy when recalling those days, but I think David Goldstone had been the chairman around then, and a lot of supporters reckoned Cardiff had deliberately thrown promotion because they couldn't afford top flight football. I was too young to understand finances back then, and never really understood why that would happen.
Same here I didn't understand what my mates dads were talking about when it came to finances and the ambition of the board.
I think it was Fred Dewey who was the CEO then. I thought he was a God figure then where the likes of us would be privileged to see him. Now 40 years later I give these sort of individuals a wide berth, I would hate to bump into them as I would be worried what I caught.

I'm not renewing. Been a season ticket holder 15 years missed 3 home games in that time due to holidays. Our club has gone to the dogs on and off the pitch. Breaks my heart to say it but I'm not getting a season ticket or my son isn't. Until things change I'm done

I'm really starting to feel the same.

Police say 14000.at Watford game so 8200 (almost 1/2 our season tickets) didn't bother. Tan is self destructing CCFC.

Followed the city since my 5th birthday but this club resembles nothing of the team I grew up watching I'm 55 now been through the good times and the many sad times relegation promotion over the years couldn't bear watching them in red only been twice this season including Watford, how can you ask the team to play for the badge and shirt when I don't want them wearing either hated the badge when it resembled the Leeds badge,we're BLUEBIRDS but on the badge without my glasses on I can't see it,nothing will change while Tan owns the club he said if they don't like what he's done then don't go,we'll Vincent Tan I'm taking your advice and I'm not going my club has died under your ownership.WE HAD PASSION HISTORY PRIDE AND FANS BEFORE YOU CAME AND WE'LL HAVE IT ONCE YOU'RE GONE,THE SOONER THE BETTER,until then goodbye to the club I've followed all my life the only thing left is the name but for how long YOU'LL keep that only you know.

Yes they are. Couple of weeks ago I got an e-mail from them. They are trying to attract ex STs like myself back.

I'm no Manc or scouser, been down city since 73, been ST holder many years and missed six games (x2) this season already and my ST for parking, it's cost me a lot of money, but I'm staying away ! It's not hurting Tan, but it's hurting me in the pocket and the heart.

I have followed City since the times of Ron Stitfall Peter King ,Ivor Allchurch and John and Mel Charles .
I have seen good times and bad and stay with it always.
But Im so very sorry to say that I have had all I can stand and I will not be renewing my season ticket and as my wife and 2 children all have season tickets .
They will not be renewed either,it will break my heart not to be there after so many years. But I just cant take it any more,my club is being destroyed by a guy who knows nothing about football and even less about Loyalty.
