You ponder around send a letter in to tan begging for blue ? But dance around in promotion knowing the cIub will be changed for ever !

I think that the only way that Tan would get the true feelings of the clubs supporters is to boycott the stadium until things change.

He does not seem to care about the club's history or tradition and he certainly does not take into account the majority of supporters feelings. the impression is that he is just playing a game.

I still don't think that enough people will refuse to keep lining Tan's pockets despite all the talk on these forums. If supporters really want to fight for their club they will stop giving Tan their money. Don't think the majority of supporters will join those of us who already felt that we could no longer renew our season tickets, and have already stopped attending. May get plenty to march and hold up their blue scarves, but I think that's as far as it will go.

Same old story. Of course he will not change. Only way to get back to blue is for him to go.

Protest keeps blue alive.

The fight take time, but there is only one way it can finish.

Defiant Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan says club will remain red as he dismisses fans' protest plans
Dec 25, 2014

By Jon Doel
In a remarkable Christmas Day warning to Bluebirds supporters, Tan questioned whether those planning to protest against the rebrand are acting with honour

Vincent Tan says he will ignore any protests held by the fans

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has warned supporters he has no intention of changing the club's colours back to blue as he dismissed upcoming protest plans during a stunning Christmas Day outburst.

In a direct message to fans who plan to march on Cardiff City Stadium in the new year to voice their anger at the rebrand that divided the club two years ago, the Malaysian billionaire insisted he has acted with honour after investing more than £100m in the Bluebirds.

“I would like to tell them this: Protesting will not make me change my mind," he said in an interview with Sky Sports News.

“Cardiff will stay red and we hope the fans will think carefully and support the club so that we can get promoted to the Premier League.

“They should know that when I first invested in the club I said I would put in up to £100m if they would let me change the colour to red and use the red dragon as the symbol and replace the bluebird emblem.

“After all, the red dragon is the symbol and national flag of Wales. At the time everyone agreed and I kept my part of the bargain. I have invested now more than £100m so if they are protesting are they keeping their part of the bargain?"

Earlier this week, several Cardiff City supporters' groups announced they were to join forces in plans for a public march ahead of the January 31 Championship clash with Derby.

They will follow that with a ‘Blue Tuesday’ protest at the League game with Brighton 11 days on, where supporters are urging everyone to make Cardiff City Stadium a sea of blue.

The Brighton match has been handpicked because it will be the two-year anniversary of the night when the club handed out free red scarves. That 2013 game, coincidentally, was also against Brighton, when Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds lost 2-0.

Tan has now urged those supporters to scrap their plans, adding: “I have done my part and they agreed. I hope they will think carefully and change their mind and support the club. After all it was my money that took up to the Premier League after 51 years.

“I think I am honourable and I hope and wish they will be honourable for the sake of Cardiff City Football Club.”

Tan, who has previously indicated he could sell Cardiff for the right price, added: “If we get promoted I could stay but it depends on the fans. It depends on their support.”

The Cardiff owner also insisted new manager Russell Slade has his full backing despite recent poor results.

“I think he has done well. He has done better than Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer),” Tan said.

“I believe - given support by all the fans and by everybody - Russell will do well. Although we are in 11th position I still believe we have a good chance of being in the play-offs. And who knows? We may even getting promoted to the Premier League again.

“Not only me, but all of our fans and everybody in Cardiff would love that. I pray that is possible and I think we have a good chance. I think Russell is a good manager. I think he will be able to take us there.

“He’s a good man, he’s honest and I think honesty and integrity is so important.”

I never agreed to any rebrand proposals from Vincent tan .I do agree that he says large sections of supporters clubs/fans did agree and they have to hold there hands up.

Problem is his promise of debt free club is way off by about 130 mill .
People agreen to it mainly because of the debt to equity it hasn't happened thats why people agreed.
Tan never thought of people like me who never wanted it in the first place.
Its a mess and his Christmas day message just fuel mine and other people s anger .
I feel tan is punishing us now in his eyes he feels let down because people did agree to it.
In my view I feel let down from day one to the point I will not renew my ticket next year if tan wants war his got one..
In hindsight those people who agreed to the rebrand should never of agreed the good thing is they no that now.
Bring it on tan . :bluescarf:

It either takes one man to change in order to unite fans and fully support the team or it takes 20,000 people to change for the same.

What's easier?

Re: ' UPDATED ' TAN ON XMAS DAY TELLS ALL CARDIFF FANS WE WI

It's pretty obvious what we are up against now, and that is nothing but one man's pride.

First of all, it's obvious that it was not fans who agreed to it.

But there is a point that's being missed, and that is that any advantage of the rebrand - which has still never been clearly stated - has clearly backfired. There can be no point in sticking to the rebrand, regardless of the money Tan has paid, if any possible advantage of the rebrand has not materialised - where is the advantage? There has been none.

There has been no commercial advantage of the rebrand, and it has not improved the standing of the club in any way.

So regardless of the money Tan has invested, given the way that he has been shown that fans now feel, he must see that there can be no advantage of keeping to the rebrand. He must see that reversing his decision would be a clear advantage to all. It would not be a case of a wasted investment - reversing the rebrand surely can be the only way of improving on the investment.

So it's clear to me that Tan is no longer seeking to improve on his investment. He is clinging on due to his pride, and nothing else.

My personal view was that I did not want to see Tan forced out. I'm not even that comfortable with him being paid off. I would have much preferred to see him back down, see sense, and go back to blue under Tan.

But it's increasingly clear that this is not going to happen, therefore there is no option but to now aim to force Tan out.

He says he won't listen to protests, but I think that means all we can try and do is step up the protests. I think a total walk-out is going to have to happen at least once.

But on the other hand, if he's not going to listen to protests, you could say it's not even necessary. We're just going to have to hope that the consortium does work out, or Tan is forced out by some other means.

Tim

I think that the main reason is that he knows that the weakness of his argument/reasons to support the rebrand would be cruelly exposed in an open debate.
Remember this is a man who is so scared of anyone questioning his decisions that he only employs people who will give him answers that they think he wants to hear up to and including CEO level.
So he is a man that is used to being surrounded by "yes men" and almost certainly can't cope with anyone having an intelligent reasoned debate with him

Of course Keith, maybe now is a good time to once again throw down the gauntlet for open debate with him

We can't debate with him, we have no elected spokesman or leader. The trust or the supporters club (happy member) do no represent the fan base from the ex hooligan to the solicitors and politicians up in the posh seats.

When did Tan actually say debt to equity ? If he did it was a long time after the initial kick off.

Its all about the money for Tan he has mine for this season, he won't have it next season. Its a shame really the club has worked so hard o get us from 5K attending to 20k season tickets

The only bit he has a point with is Malky, he isn't going to get Wigan promoted without the money is he ???

He shouldn't pick a fight with City fans it's like poking a tiger with a stick.......

What a load of bollocks!
i have to laugh sometimes at the comments on here but every now and again you have to respond.

Malky, he isn't going to get Wigan promoted without the money is he ???
lots of managers tried but could not Leicester put SGE in charge and spent millions and they got nowhere
Without finance no manager is going to get anywhere if you have a slight knowledge of football you would never make such a stupid comment.

QPR
Man u
Chelsea
Man City
Spend a frightening amount of money its become a money game more than a football game Malky done better than any other manger we ever had so lets not forget that.
Many managers tried and failed.
The mangers since have had his squad in the main and have failed so get real and understand that he did a great job and got us promoted that is history the best manger did the best job. You can throw money at anything but you still need to make it work!
it is up to anyone else who comes in to do better that is the measure now.

As as for Wigan, well do you think anyone was going to get a bottom three championship side to promotion without funds? i hope not but judging by the stupid comments maybe!

Where has the £100 million gone? OK, you had debts to Sam & Langstone, but you have been one of the best supported Championship sides for the last few years, so I ask again, where has the £100 million gone.

If you ask me, a lot of it is down to "creative accountancy".

Red or dead my arse, look at us, Southampton and several others who have taken the hit and started again debt free. No matter what happens, Cardiff City FC is not something a dictator can buy, sell or destroy. If he sods off, its the fans who can make it rise from the ashes. It would not be a quick fix, but it would not be the end. In many ways I think I have more faith in your club than a lot of you lot do! I'm sure well still be rivals when Tan and most of us have gone.
