I am told the first thing he would do is return us to Blue and reinstate our rightful badge with the Bluebird being the prominent image. There is an urgent need which has been identified and that is the atmosphere at the CCS and I am told the Grange end and Canton could be swapped around to help remedy this problem.
Right I do not know who it is and even if I did I am told it could put the whole thing in doubt so I wouldn't say even if I knew.
This is in the very early stages so may not even come off but it's good to hear that others could be interested.

On a serious note I hope it's true. Tan must go.

Some of those were names that came to mind.

Sullivan at least has the money and would be keeping his word. Chances 1/10

Hammam I reckon still wants to come back. He loved it here and is clearly bitter about how he was hounded out. I think he still cares for City too. Whether he can raise the money or still has the desire is another thing. Chances 4/10

Borley is another one mentioned- still loves the club, but can't see him being able to raise the funds. You never know though. 2.5/10

Beyond these 3 it's difficult to see who would be interested.

Tim,And if it was Sam(Not saying it is though),your honest thoughts?

Honestly Annis....

I'm split on Sam. He gave us hope and a vision. He was more focused, ambitious and clear on what we had to achieve than anyone else who has run this club in my lifetime.

I loved his enthusiasm for the club and the passion.

However the way he finished was acrimonious. He too, split the fans and toward the end he said things which were spiteful toward our support- which we as a fan-base didn't deserve and he was also reckless. Some of his business decisions and some of the stuff which has come out about contracts make Tan look almost professional.

I don't know how he would overcome that.

I would still support a Sam Hammam owned CCFC, but I get the feeling that many many others wouldn't.

It could make things worse.

I hope the consortium has real money and not just going to borrow the money against the club or we would be right in the Shit

Please don't get my hopes up. This would be the best news I've heard in years.

Re: ' Consortium possibility to take over Cardiff City '

I couldn't care which league we were in, if we were back to blue with the bluebird badge we could be in the dungeons again and I'd still be there whenever I could afford it.

I don't even hate tan as much as some folks on here (and I can understand why folks are so bitter) but will say that he is stupid.

If tan had listened to the fans and gone back to blue (or never changed) with the old badge he would have been raking it in hand over fist.

He put a lot of money in though... While I hope this "more than a rumor" is true... I also hope whoever does this has the financial clout similar to Tan to back it up. I'd rather be in blue and happy with a united fan Base... But of we're three years out and back to panicking about having a club at all, I'm not sure it would have been worth it.

Even Ronald McDonald would be better than the shambolic ownership of the club at the moment!

Just can't see it. How would Tan get his 100/120 million back? Club is worth no where near that presently. Maybe he is willing to lose 50 million? :bluescarf:

He might just accept any fair offer as he might see it as his only way out without losing too much, other than being promoted which is a massive challenge.

Anyway just really hope this is true, imagine this new owners back playing in blue with our old badge playing in the prem aswell that would be something, hope I am not getting my hopes up though.

I'm hoping to god this true, but..

It's in the back of my mind that the club might have made up this rumour to maybe increase peoples hopes of a return to blue, to increase season ticket sales for next season?

ST info not out until at least mid Jan! So plenty of time for info to become public knowledge! So def not club leaking dubious news.

If these rumours of a Consortium are correct, then it might be that some sort of negotiations have been taking place. Tan's actions (selling assets and reducing costs) are the classic signals for preparing a business for a sale.

This sounds very positive. Consortiums take a while to get going but we can only hope that it is driven by a local link rather than someone abroad. The priority here has to be to reconnect the community links & make it a club of the people again. Do this & the atmosphere will return hand in hand with the pride we have in the club & ourselves as fans.

Re: ' Consortium possibility to take over Cardiff City '

Mon Dec 22, 2014 10:11 pm

I know nothing about this but if it's a local consortium my fear is it will involve Borley which does not enthral me.

I have heard strong rumours Tan wants another UK club and if so he needs to get rid of us. I feared he would stick to a high price for us hence why I was preparing for another 2 seasons with him. If this does come off before the season has ended then I will be delighted.

Borley can f**k off to be honest. He's only in it for the money, he has no genuine love for the club.

I seriously hope there is some truth in this. It would make sense if it were the party that has been inferred on here. To be honest I don't really mind who it is, as far as I'm concerned anyone is better than what we currently have.

Cardiff City F.C not dead!

Just dormant.

I beg it not to include sam.

The balls up with tan can rose tint sam hammams time here. Never mind red kit and badge, we came v close to being extinct under SH

As the saying goes...never go back.

Perfect timing if it is SH though from his PR side, will be carried back into the stadium like the saviour, when last time he was the assassin.
