' MY VIEW,CARDIFF AT THIS RATE KNOW HOW TO LOSE SUPPORT '

This was dire today,I'm now thinking did the Watford game ever happen

The City fans left the match wondering why they had made the efort,as City certainly did not.

Cardiff City 0 Rotherham 0

Cardiff City line up :thumbright:

CardiffCity v Rotherham Marshall, Brayford, Connolly, Turner, Morrison, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Kim, Noone, Jones, le Fondre.

CardiffCity subs: Moore, Fabio, Ralls, Daehli, Ravel, Adeyemi, Macheda.

Crowd 20,419 including about 400 hundred Rotherham fans.

Once again there looked barely 15,000 fans at the game.

I believe the pressure was on Russell Slade to deliver a victory today,no matter what, but I am starting to wonder if he has a plan B? or does he know how to open up some of the poorest teams in this division, because Rotherham like many others we have failed to beat are one of them.

The Bluebirds went in to this game with 5 consecutive home wins behind them, facing a Rotherham side that had not won for over 8 games

The game started with no urgency and the atmosphere was once again awful at home.

The first bit of life, like came in the 19 minute and that was from the crowd not the team, when we sang " We will always be Blue " :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

For 25 minutes Rotherham had most of the possession  the game was dire so far, then a shot was fired in to our goal mouth from Rotherham and Turned had to quickly kick it out.

By the 34 minute we had not had a shot on goal

Then in the 36 min and 37 min Craig Noone had two good runs at their goal :ayatollah:,but the finishing was not there.

Kimbo and Brayford were now and again able to put some good passing together :ayatollah:

Half time 0-0 was met by a few boos by the City fans.

Rotherham started the second half more lively,Marshall had to make a good save in the 49th minute :thumbright:

The match just seemed to be getting worse

In the 65th minute Jones was replaced by Macheda and for me Jones had been more than lazy today,as he had done nothing.

In the 68th minute another save by Marshall.

72nd minute Macheda had a shot :thumbright: but some how it just rolled along the the Rotherham goal line, our best chance so far,in fact I think our only chance

73rd minute Rotherham hit the crossbar.

79th minute Fabio came on for Connolly and a cheer went up.

84th minute Ravel Morrison came on for Le Fondre.

NOW THE SHOCK

Man of the Match for me, No City player, Pringle number 18 for Rotherham, for me he terrorised us :o
I honestly cant say any City player deserved it today.

If I was Rotherham, I would be disappointed that I had not taken the 3pts from us.

For me this was awful today, I said to someone, 2pts dropped, they replied, you mean a 1 pt gained after that garbage.

I suppose you could say another clean sheet :thumbright:

But over all on this performance we are a middle of the table team this season.

The match finished with loud boos from the Cardiff fans.

Next up a tough trip away to Bournemouth. :thumbright: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

As a positive poster it's hard to be negative but that was just poor from start to finish. It's easy to critise after but slade got it wrong, it was crying out for fabio to replace Connelly and ravel or daehli to add some spark. Poor showing and very inconsistent after last weeks heroics. Would have taken 4 points before last weeks game, sorry can't help it ....

 A new manager should be given time but our performances have gone back by years. The results have been deceiving. Slade does not want to include any quality in the team. He would rather grind out a boring 1-0 than play attractive football and score goals for fun.

I think some "fans" need to take a breath! Let's talk honestly, should we have dominated them today? Yes. However, if your being honest with yourself this is a game we would have found a way to lose before Slade arrived here!! Three clean sheets in 4. Let's be a little more positive, still only 2 off the playoffs.

I rarely call cardiff over but it was a dreadful performance today we looked clueless and knackered. Which I think is down to lack of changes in starting line ups. Ole too much slade too little. Definitely not promotion material and January will be interesting to see who comes in coz tom Lawrence was not very impressive at all pringle did the string pulling

We could play this kind of football on a shoe-string budget, it's disappointing the players are earning so much money to be matched by Rotherham who don't have anywhere near Tan's resources.

If Tan is able to get this quality for his money, I dread to dream of a Cardiff City at the next stage of the downsizing process. We're shit enough as it is.

The performances have been average to below par. How the results have not reflected this is turning out to be a mystery now.

Tan announced that the reason ST prices has risen is because us fans want to see good football. well Tan when are we going to see it?

Ian, I have to say even though we gave our all at Watford, but even then the football was awful. Its been awful under Ole and Slade.
But the positive side is,Slade has been grinding out results, but the football has been dire.

annis saw game online and we were awfull couldnt pass to each other, very few final passes just lacked ideas going forward tbh even matts would struggle today! but we didnt lose despite rotherham playing well, but i do now think we may struggle to be in top 6 after todays performance!!

ps probably be all different after next 4 games :laughing5:

I think based on recent performances, if they do continue like this we will be lucky to get 10K season ticket holders and an overall crowd of 13/14k. It's giving your hard earned money away for a very disappointing performance every game.

Gunnarson looked shattered and why he was not substituted I don't know, Kenwynne was out of sorts today and Connolly was poor.
Kim and Noone especially were our best players today and I think Ravel Morrison should have been on much earlier. There was very little fight particularly in midfield where we hardly won any knock downs and second balls.
It will be a very tough trip to Bournemouth as they are flying.

Rotherham looked the better team over 90 minutes, for me thats very disappointing.

I cant name any player other than Marshall that actually did well for us today.

I agree the substitutes were to late in the game.

Tonteg Bluebird wrote:Today we looked like a team who thought they had done the hard work at Watford and all they had to do today was turn up for another win. That isn't Slade's fault, Ole has assembled this squad and this squad don't have the correct attitude and character. This squad simply lacks the professionalism to consistently perform and succeed.

Sean Morrison is a constant worry. He's 6'4 and should be eating up every long ball pumped down his throat, but he got beaten several times today and this constantly happens. Connolly actually went for one of Morrison's headers in the first half because it was obvious Connolly didn't trust Morrison to win it.

Kenwyne Jones went back to the lazy player from last season and my initial thoughts are Le Fondre's comments bigging him up as the Drogba of the Championship might have gone to his head. There was no fight in Jones today, although he barely got any service to be fair. How many kicks from Marshall went to Le Fondre instead of Jones?

The only plus I can take from today is despite playing poorly, we still managed to get a draw and another clean sheet which is something we would never have managed under Ole. That's our third clean sheet in 4 games now and if you don't play well and can't win a game, the next best thing is to keep a clean sheet not to lose the game.

My man of the match was Noone by a mile. He was the only one running at players and going past players to try and open them up.

Your right Ross, not many positives, but a clean sheet and getting a point after that awful/dire football are positives.

I cant help but think that this was entirely financially motivated decision by Tan so he can slash the wage bill ready to sell. Only one substitution made by the 70th minute, the game was crying out for fabio or at least someone with some desire and then he brings him on in defence. Most people in the stadium wanted to see him on in place of kimbo, who wasnt bad but isnt match fit or a winger. Daehli must be annoyed being snubbed entirely for someone who has played 30 mins in 3 months. For me the entire "club" from top to bottom is a shambles. It's as if slade takes 2 steps forward and 3 back. He's not a championship manager and seems in awe of his position and doesnt know how to harness the quality of individuals we have a make them a team. As long as that knob Scott Young, sacked by the prestigious Port Talbot town is there the team dynamics and morale are going to carry on being non existent.

Totally agree the appointments show me that our owner knows nothing about football.

Young and Gabs should never be our coaches.

We were very poor today, virtually nothing to shout about, desperately needed a plan B which wasn't forthcoming.
What summed it up for me was possibly the biggest cheer of the day for Fabio coming on. Says it all when a crowd is pinning their hopes on a full back changing the game?
No Daehli again & Ravel for 7 mins??

While I agree the football hasn't been great, this side were relegation fodder before he arrived. Let's look at the bigger picture here, we were in free fall and his points return and steadying the ship has to be applauded. Not even Jose Mourinho wouldnt have turned a relegation side to a top two in such short time.

Slade has been lucky getting the results he has had with the quality of performances the team has been dishing out to us. Is it time to bring in a few of the players who have had little or no chance to perform and shine. I think so.
Or is it that whoever plays under Slade and Young this is the type of performance we will always have?

I can see us getting turned over soon and then it could get worse, I hope I am wrong.
