Cobblers!

To have a player on the books on big wages, hardly using him, blocking his exit in the summer, then terminating his contract 5 months later presumably on a big pay-off is hardly shrewd manoeuvring by the club

Are you sure Wez ?

By that I mean has Cala had his contracted terminated but paid up in full, if so then the wage bill is not affected by him leaving as his wages remaining on his contract have been paid.

I don't know if he has been paid up in full or a percentage has been paid but it would be foolish I believe to think he has gone without receiving any amount if his wages.

sorry Carl but you said malkt was paid up in full and ole but you were wrong ,who told you that it's happened again ?

I haven't said it's happened Wez, you said it hasnt and I am questioning it.

Also I have never said Ole or Malky have been paid up in full.

Maybe you should read this viewtopic.php?f=2&t=150138

I read your post wrong ,but if cala has breached his contract then he might of got nothing

No doubt it has the usual "Tan clause" in it. "Shut the f**k up and apologize, and we will let you get on your way :laughing6:

What a load of bollocks! Except cala wanted out same as club. Or are you calling cala a lyer? Because that's your infering! Statement by cala apologising came after official statement from club so he already agreed to leave and club happy for him to go.

What ever you want to believe. But let me ask, have there ever been a member of staff or player leaving the club saying anything of their own opinion, something slightly critical of the way Tan runs things? Off course Cala agreed to apologize if he was to get mutual consent. He will probably not mention Slades or Tans name in public ever again :laughing6:

Fact cala apology came after club statement, as i was listening to radio Wales as it happened! so nothing stopped cala saying what he wanted ? Or as I said cala is lying? Very few players slag ex clubs off as don't want to appear trouble makers! Its simple really but guess you prefer the tan gagged him after releasing him from contract as fact? :laughing5:

So cala could only apologise but not say anything else because he was gagged? Even though contract was signed before cala made statement according to cala himself! Why not say nothing gagging order which is normal thing? But your view Makes sense to you I suppose!!

Cala's Contract Cancelled

Juan Cala was set to leave Cardiff in January but his exit has come early.

Wed 3rd Dec 2014

Football Vital

The defender incurred the wrath of the club recently when he took to Twitter to rant about his omission from the side and being forced to train with the development squad, having been informed that he wasn't in Russell Slade's plans.

It was agreed that it would be best if his left the Bluebirds in January but a statement was released on the official website today confirming his immediate exit from the Cardiff City Stadium with his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

'Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that on Wednesday, 3rd December 2014, Juan Cala's contract with the club was terminated by mutual agreement. The player leaves Cardiff City with immediate effect.

'We would like to thank Juan for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future.'

As a free agent he'll now be free to seek a new club.

Cala was a regular under OGS last season as we unsuccessfully battled Premier League relegation but has barely featured this season and wouldn't have featured under Slade so this is the best move for all concerned.

I'd anticipate he'll return to Spain?

Cardiff City: Juan Cala leaves Bluebirds

BBC

Juan Cala's contract with Cardiff City has been terminated by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old Spanish defender leaves the Championship side with immediate effect.

Cala recently took to social media to express his discontent at training with the Bluebirds' academy players, and was expected to depart in January.
A spokesman for the club told BBC Wales Sport: "We would like to thank Juan for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future."
Centre-back Cala joined Cardiff from Sevilla in February 2014 and featured for them in the Premier League last season.
But he made only one Championship appearance this season.
On Twitter Cala said: "I wish to apologise to Tan Sri Vincent Tan for my recent comments. He had nothing to do with my move to the academy."

Spanish defender Juan Cala has contract terminated by Cardiff City
by Jamie Kemp

Thursday, December 4th, 2014

In an official club statement released by Cardiff City, they have confirmed that Spanish defender Juan Cala has had his contract terminated by mutual agreement.

Juan Cala, Cardiff City.

The Sevilla youth product was picked up by Cardiff City at the start of 2014, and upon his arrival, became a near ever-present in the club’s one-year stint in the Premier League. Since dropping down to the Championship however, the 25-year-old has made just one league start in the second tier and his relationship with the club has become increasingly strained.

Cala even took to Twitter last week to express his anger at being forced to train with the club’s youngsters – a decision which he felt was orchestrated by chairman Vincent Tan.

Upon the termination of his contract, the one-time Spanish U19 international has apologised for his comments towards the chairman and the club, and thanked the fans for their support in his short stint in Cardiff.

“I wish to apologise to Vincent Tan for my recent comments. He had nothing to do with my move to the academy. It was just my time at Cardiff City.

Thank you very much to the fans for their support here.”

Why ?

One down seven or eight to go.........

Its a business......

terminating a contract is not good business. Obviously this shit got out of hand but i can't see how letting people leave on a free is good business.

i doubt this is a free, with us paying 50% of his contract. You take "x" amount, we rip up the contract and you can go where you want, or here is a map to treforest and you have 3 years with the kids........

We won't have given him anything. A breach of club policy means he has broken his contract = contract terminated without a fee.

I Disagree there, as if we paid him nothing, the PFA would of been called in and Cala would not have back tracked.
