.they have been saying for several years getting expansion still to see definite plans for it# lots problems with design ( not designed to be extended) and land around ground other properties to think about! plus its joint tennancy!

We do not have the smallest ground in the Prem as QPR do. We are trying hard to expand the stadium but the council is the sticking point.

As for a takeover at the Liberty, none of us know whats really going on, but I guess there is no smoke without fire, it sounds like something is up. Our current board have worked wonders down here and after 12 years if a couple of them are deciding to cash out then I can't really blame them.
Stadium expansion is as much down to traffic and parking by now, the designs for the expansion while tricky are done, but the congestion around the Landore area on matchdays seems to be holding upxpanding as much as anything else.

Taking that into account you have problems then! Ninian park couldn't be expanded partly due to sloper rd being in way and no way around it! As been said before its been several years since planning been asked for, didn't McDonald's get in way once? You need expansion to push on surely?

I honestly don't know, the plans went in quite a while ago...

... I would guess that finance for the roadworks is the biggest issue here.

I would also think that the council would have grave concerns over expanding a stadium that is not owned by the club yet would be reliant on that club staying in the Premiership to make it pay. Swansea get relegated and the council are left with a white elephant

How do you work that out , Swansea were in Division 1 when they moved into the Liberty and nothing has changed except for increased attendances and if the Club get relegated then I suspect the core would remain to continue as before .

Let's face it, the stadium was built in the wrong place. Every Jack I knew at the time of the move from the Vetch said it was madness. The roads are a nightmare and rail is not an option realistically. I'Be been told that tge favoured spot was at Felindre near the old steelworks. It would be straight off the M4 and ideal for development as a commercial centre.
The trouble is, the jaxx were ambitious at a lower level so couldn't really predict their success so they went for a medium capacity arena. Easy with hindsight, but maybe the SA1 area could have been a better spot??
Just saying.
