Ninian Park was a dump. But it was our dump. And I'll miss that dump. :ayatollah:

Really?

Well the Old Lady twice held over 50,000 in my lifetime, entertained the greatest club ever Real Madrid, hosted the greatest club in British football history and that being the Leeds United team of the early 70s and finally is the most famous Welsh football ground that our country will ever know.

Oh yes through the years her appearance has struggled. In her time she stood her own but life tends to draw it out of you. My mother had the looks in her youth but bring me up as well as my brother took its toll. In the end it showed for her like it showed for all old people and it will for those of us who will be lucky to have an old age. However it never crossed my mind to call my old mother a "hage". In fact it never entered my mine.

I see through the appearance of Ninian Park like I saw through the looks of my mother before she died. I see the heart of the Old Lady and could never ever address her as a dump.

Complete agree MR Hallam :D your fingers type words of wisdom

It was a dump, and I can remember the pitch with barely a blade of grass on it, just a big diamond shaped dirt and sand patch with a bit of grass near each of the corners. A small grandstand, the family enclosure, and the bob bank and grange end which were all standing areas. Remember the queues to watch West Ham in the cup, eventually got in 10 minutes before half time, missed our goal but saw the two second half goals which knocked us out. Saw us hammer teams like Aston Villa, FC Nantes etc in front of 25,000+ fans, and in later years struggle in front of less than 5,000 fans. Watched us play teams like Maesteg Park Athletic in the Welsh cup, and lose to teams like Bath City in the FA cup. It was a dump for as far back as I remember, but I'd go back tomorrow given the chance.

Firstly, not directed at any of you, who has called NP a dump, it's not made clear in the original post, unless it's been edited. As for the people who you mention, ironically nearly all the so called 'inner circle' lot from the Valleys fit perfectly into that category. ;)

Give me Ninian Park any day, a real football ground :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Give me ninian park and the real fans that the club attracted back then at Ninian.

Not these annoying f'ing newbies that have been here 2 mins, that critise us, our heritage and our pride in our heritage and history as a club, when they have no idea whatsoever. Absolute tossers the lot of them - and from my experience, these are usually the same daft twats that somehow find a way to jump to tans defence, and walk around red kit - not a Cardiff city kit and never ever will be. We need shot of tan AND these cretins as soon as possible. We were a stronger and better club without them.

Bring back Cardiff City.

I actually think the so called cretins of this club are the ones trying to sabotage progress...

I certainly remember NP as it was and loved it - but you'd have to be a tool to say we had to stay there. It was tired, old and we needed to move. So its not just newbies - but realists that see we had to upgrade. Also the way you generalise the "daft twats" - my experience the last few years its the ones who have been so anti-tan its boring that are the real daft twats. Surely a real daft tw*t is one that has walked away from the club, thrown toys out the pram and makes out the world is against them - not the ones actually turning up - red or not!... Dont get me wrong I want blue back as much as most, but what I struggle to comprehend is a post like this spouting pretty much verbal cack.
