ThomasC, that's an exceptionally sad viewpoint. I don't see Jessica Ennis having been found guilty in a Court of Law for any heinous crime...or have I missed something??

The thing is though that would never happen coz Adidas would never risk alienating her for someone like Evans who lets be fair is not a big name in football. Its not Ronaldo we are talking about here.
They would just pressure the club not to sign him. She is worth money to adidas he is not he is not especially after what he's been found guilty of. Its bizarre that Sheff wed are taking so long making a decision on this, seen their sponsors are pulling out as well now. What a mess.

I still can't understand how someone can be convicted of rape when the person claiming it cant even remember what happened?

I appreciate she may well have not consented however I don't believe there was enough evidence to convict him, How come his mate didnt get charged when they had sex with her in the same room at the same time.

Fair enough. It is an honour, but it is a highly emotive issue (particularly for women) and she obviously feels strongly enough that the club should not welcome him back to state that she would want her name removed from the Stand that does indeed honour her achievements for the City of Sheffield

That is her right, as much as it is for others to say that Evans should be welcomed back into he fold with open arms

And YES, she should sever her ties with ANY sponsor that would have Evans in its ranks and I think she would do that, in the unlikely event it were to ever happen

As I said before, it is highly emotive and it boils down to any individuals thoughts on what is right and just under any given circumstance. In this case, all I see is a convicted rapist and someone who is trying to ensure that Sheffield United take a moral view rather than a business one

I tell you what, that court room must have held thousands with the amount of people who claim to know every details of the case yet don't understand that not everything was made public about the case
