Big decision for United now....
I can't see why they are so committed to him ?
This case has liberals turning themselves inside out. He has served his time, but still protests his innocence, so will not show remorse. Somehow this crime is bigger than the sentence handed to him by the judge and should have further civil repercussions dished out by celebrities.
If 5 years is insufficient for rape, them make it more. Perhaps we should brand them with a "R" on their forehead, but lets make the sentence statute law....
Ultimately with live in a capitalist society, and money will dictate this case...Is Chedwyn worth more than the sponsors and a supporters who will boycott ?

what's he meant to do in the mean time?
Do what every other rapist, pedophile, murderer and vile scum do, claim benefits. Why should he be given special treatment, because don't forget he is a convicted 'RAPIST'.
Agreed, considering he's currently training with the Blades right now, I think he'll be fine for a few weeks.

I don't know what happened and tbh none of us really do, for those who is saying some people just won't believe a jury, the Guildford four where 4 innocent Irish men sentenced in a court of law for a crime they did not commit. We don't know. If she did this for money or what,

If he came out and said "I'm sorry, I made a terrible and devastating mistake, I should have known better and I didn't have the right to have sex with someone when their willingness could not be determined, alcohol or not", people would be more open to him getting back into football.
While he is still professing innocence while the courts and victim say otherwise I think it is very difficult for anyone to respect any team that allows him back. So as it stands Ched should exhaust all legal processes open to him if he is as innocent as he claimed before being allowed back into football. If indeed he is found innocent of rape through an appeal or retrial then of course it's a not only appropriate for him to get back into professional football but he should seek compensation for the years denied of playing and loss of income and damage to his character.
