Whilst was excellent result up to that free kick you never looked like scoring second half despite montero running rings around chambers most game!. Still early days :old:

Didn't look like scoring until we scored two and won the game

We 'cheated' as well. Didn't we owe Hammam £30m+ and ended up paying him around a third of that?

No, we did a deal with Hammam which is why he's now the life president of our club.

So you did exactly the same as us , you owed someone x amount couldn't pay it so came to an agreement over what would be payed back

What a tit !

How is that the same? We made an offer and Hammam accepted. He could have declined and insisted we paid the full amount back. A big difference to what you did, but full credit to Huw Jenkins who has done an incredible job since and makes a mockery of our current owner.

which is exactly the same as happened to us , they didn't have to accept but came to an agreement

Think pennies in the pound in Swansea's case is slightly different to to what hamman excepted? And who knows actual amount was owed to Sam? And admin is not what was agreed with Sam? so cannot possibly compare like for like. Unless want a never ending debate again! :laughing5:

Exactly pennies in the pound al you owed Sam millions ! Not getting into this desperate Cardiff point scoring anyway , we're awesome and you're shite so I'll leave it at that ;)

The difference is we dealt directly with Sam Hammam who was our ex owner who ran up all the debts. You were saved by a CVA which 92% of the creditors accepted. I feel sorry for the 8% who got ripped off. Still, that's history and I wish you well, until we play each other again of course. Hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later.

Fair play to them.

The only thing we have over them is better attendances and a better stadium, but other than that they're better than us in every single way and will be for another few years at least, no one can argue with that.

But honestly, with all the crap we're going through, I couldn't care less about them until we've sorted out our own problems on and off the pitch.

Normally agree with a lot of your posts but this comes across as a bitter jealousy.
Unfortunately, the jack bastards are light years ahead of our circus from top to bottom.

It's not bitter jealousy. Since administration they've done remarkably well rising to the top and good luck to them. They're largely responsible for giving us a chance to qualify for France after all. My point is that the Jacks can gloat about how much better they're doing than us all they want, but that doesn't mean they did things the correct and honourable way.

Wow watch that bitterness doesn't consume you haha
Correct and honourable pmfsl

The rivalry is on hold as we are a club in crisis, and they are having the most successful period in their history.

Re: say what you like about the jacks

Mon Nov 10, 2014 10:50 am

No club's supporters want their team's efforts tarnished by debt and non-payment to creditors. However, it is part of the history of 'their' club and hopefully, the doldrums we are experiencing in terms of ownership, kit, badge, etc. will become just another phase of our club history. We have little to be cheerful about off the field but supporting the team during games is the most important thing.

OK, we are mid-table Championship at the moment, but that can change in the future. Sw@n$e@ have an enviable position at the moment and have steadily built towards it over 10 years. Their stadium is now too small but that is about the only bugbear they have (In fact, turnstile takings are a relatively small revenue stream in the PL). The constant barracking is quite embarrassing and reminds me of the immature behaviour MP's seem to revel in, arguing for the sake of it.

All we have to do is to ensure that the next time we play them in a league derby, we are ready to survive the drop zone. Had we ground out just a few more victories last season, we would be in a far stronger position now financially and on the field.

Much as it hurts, yes, you have to hand it to them.... FOR NOW!!

Re: say what you like about the jacks

I was quietly pleased last night that their win wasn't mentioned here, seems i thought too soon. I watched the match and had a sickening feeling throughout. Not because i begrudge them but because that really could have been us, even their star man Montero yesterday was a whisker away from being ours. It reaffirmed the massive gulf between us on and off the pitch and I just wish we could start to do things the right way and aim for that long term.

When we were chasing both Montero and Gomis all you lot could say was how crap they were.

You had the benefit of us not staying up as they would certainly have signed for us if we had stayed up.

Bollocks ! already seen montero play against us for real bêtis in a friendly and he took us apart , and gomis record was very good , and as for them certainly signing for you !!

Re: say what you like about the jacks

Mon Nov 10, 2014 1:50 pm

We had no chance of signing Gomis. They had talks with Gomis before we were interested was my understanding. As for Montero, i really wish we pushed the boat out for him. Apparently his agent slightly increased his demands so we said no on principle. It turned out that he was someone we were crying out for and could have been the difference.

llan bluebird wrote:I know he would never ever do it as he is a fan, but hiring Huw as DoF/CEO would be the best thing Tan could do. You have to admit they don't get many recruitment decisions wrong.

We need a guy who can run a business (I know his went through) and understands football at the top.

We are run as Tans play thing

The reason it works at Swansea is because they are run by supporters who understand the basics of managing a football business. They understand the industry they are in and that over stretching would kill them.

I really like the way they change managers without changing the whole back room team.
I also like the way they have a "style of play " they stick to.

This means that when they have a new manager he just "fits in " to their philosophy.

What Cardiff need is a "strategy", and then stick to it.

They don't manage the basics, have no footballing philosophy, and have an owner more interested in himself than the team or supporters.

Tan is media hungry. But I must say I totally agree with his approach towards players agents - this is about the only thing I have agreed with him on.

Huw is not the solution, replicating the model Huw used is the solution, but putting a Cardiff personality on it.

I couldn't careless how they do these days, we are not in the same league on many levels. Good luck to them and Alan curtis who is a nice bloke. Our club is seemingly persistently run by loons from clemo to hammam, riddler and now Tan. Football has had its day for me anyway. The premier league and all that guff is just cash in and cash straight back out to overpaid sportsman, played out in almost soulless arena's. You watch a bit of German league and see the difference. More chance of me going back in league 1 than the premier league....

Re: say what you like about the jacks

Business is cut throat, all about survival of the fittest. Know where I'd rather be, watching a top 5 Premier team which is well run and raking in millions in revenue every year, or watching an average Championship side losing money every week. I'm dead jealous of the Jack supporters, and they won't care how they did it in the same way most of us City supporters wouldn't care if we did the same thing. The gap between the two clubs is enormous, and will grow bigger each season they stay in the top flight, as it looks like being a long time before we get back up there.

Completely different scenario between the clubs.

Swansea had a CVA, Company Voluntary Arrangement.

Cardiff has an LVA, Lick Vince's Arse. Or at least they used to, but now most of them have got wise.

Ridsdale was the clubs pimp, and VT was the punter. Unfortunately if you behave like a hooker chances are you'll get screwed.

Cardiff are only a few wins away from being in the race again. Best thing that could happen would be for VT to sod off and give you your club back again.

It's pointless comparing the two clubs, we are like Del Boys yellow 3 wheeler, they are like a shiny new Bentley turbo, we are about 10 years behind them in everything, they are playing with the PL big boys and flirting with Europe, we are playing with the Brentford,s and flirting with the Johnston paint trophy :bluescarf:

Re: say what you like about the jacks

Hope we don't get to meet them in a cup competition anytime soon. Think we would be completely humiliated if we played them now, I honestly believe we would do well do avoid a 4 or 5 goal thrashing.

The turnaround can be very quick indeed. Look at Wigan, Blackpool, Fulham, etc.

We just need to get back up when we are ready. Maybe not this year, but certainly within 3 seasons.

The "chasm" is certainly viable to navigate and a bad run in the PL for others could see a rapid fall from grace. :?:

Newcastle are a prime example of a big, successful, established club who were relegated and had to fight their way back. Now look at their form and position. :P
