I was expecting a lot more from Guerra, which he can't deliver if he's not even on the sheet.

Why would Tan want to prevent Guerra being selected?

In a different thread it has been suggested that Tan insisted that Guerra played in the Bournemouth game!

Is Tan saying he should play or not play?

If it were my money paying Guerra's sizeable wages I'd be asking my manager for a reason why he seems to be suggesting that he'd rather play a centre half who's been out injured for months as a striker ahead of a guy who has scored goals in one of Europe's top leagues.

Look, I'm just trying to find reasons *not to play Guerra. Tan did more than hint that he wanted him in the Bournemouth game, BUT...

Why hasn't he insisted since in that case? Is he picking the side or not? It's a total mystery to me that a quality player like Guerra isn't featured more. That's all I'm saying.

Would love to see Guerra or Maynard given a run of games in the side.
Le Fondre has been disappointing & lets be honest his only goal for us was an embaressment. Le Fondre has had his chance & its time for someone else.
If Slade is going to stick with 4-4-2 then he must drop ALF and give Guerra / Maynard or Jones a chance.
Im deserpate to see more of Ravel Morrision. Maybe play him as a number 10 behind Macheda /Jones or NM...!!!
The lad is a talent.
Just need to whip him into shape...on and off the field.

Hes looked good when hes come on as a sub in the earlier games this season. Cant judge him on that performance in the cup against Bournemouth. I agree he needs a run. Lets see what he can do.
You called me Ole and not Olly...I can see you are missing OGS haha :)

Guerra should definitely be given a chance to prove himself, but while Scott Young has any input he has no chance.Young is way out of his depth and why we have Gabbidon on the bench is a joke.Watched Guerra in pre season friendly and he looked the part

Everytime he has come on he has looked quality, its stupid that a player who got a load of la liga goals last season cant even get on the bench for us espeically when you consider Le Fondre cant score, Jones unavailable.

I spoke to some Spanish close friends of Javi Guerra today and they were telling me what a nice person he was and could not believe the Rumours about Guerra supposedly upsetting the dressing room.
In the past he has never been known for this and it's not his character.
He has personally gone to Slade and pleaded with him for a chance to show his worth :thumbright:

So come on Russell Slade, give a proven goal scorer a chance :thumbright:

What have you got lo loose?

Great player on ability alone he starts......

Hhmmmm I wonder why he isn't selected by three different Managers ???

If I was a betting man, I would bet on him not playing and him leaving in the next window, but I hope i'm wrong and Slade gives him a go, as he is the best Striker we have IMO.

All three managers have had Scott Young as a coach and he publically criticised Guerra after the Bournemouth game.

I spoke to a reporter today and he says as far as he has heard Guerra has never caused any upset in the dressing room, but he had heard Cala has been known to have an attitude.

Lets play Guerra and give him a run of games :thumbright: :thumbright:

Agree, he's looked to have that bit of class about him in the little I've seen of him. Has a great leap on him too

Man Utd wanted him back not long ago and we are prepared to get rid of him on the cheap. You cant make it up but at Cardiff.....

It will be interesting if Slade does give him a chance,as for me if a player asks, then he is showing the right attitude :thumbright:

Damn right he should be given a chance and I've said it all season long, everytime he came on as a sub in the league he looked, sharp, up for it and his touch was amazing. He had one bad 30 mins in the cup and everyone's on his back like there's no tomorrow, at the end the day the WHOLE team performance that night was a shambles so I don't see why he's getting all the stick.

Posted that too soon!

Whatever his reasons, it's Russell Slade's decision. Managers often don't rate certain players. It's up to Guerra to knuckle down in training, and wait for his chance, like any other player. It will probably come, as were bound to pick up injuries and suspensions. The it's up to him to prove Russell Slade wrong, or otherwise.

I have a real fear that slade is going to dismantle the squad but get rid of the wrong players. We need a refresh but there's a real threat that we could be quickly turned in to a very average side and waste some of the best talent we have.

I really hope Slade reconsiders two players already Daehli and Guerra.

Agree, give him a game or two. He can't do any worse looking at the chances our strickers have missed in the past few days, he must have it in him, can't believe I am missing Kenwyne! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
