Joe ralls is 2 two older and has played about 5 times the amount of first team football than Matts.

As for going to a big team. I read that chelsea have 42 players out on loan, I am sure Matts doesn't fancy being one of those.

I am not sure if his parents are over with him, but its a big ask for a 19 year old to be in a foreign country on his own. Perhaps he is just immature (not a criticism) and not ready for this at this stage in his career. All the skill in the world, if your head and heart is not in it, you may as well go back to norway and enjoy life :old:

How ignorant can you be? Daehli have lived in England since he was 15, and 6 months in Norway. His mother have been by his side all those years and still is. Currently home is in Cardiff..

A bit rude to call somebody 'ignorant'. There are rumours going around that Daehli is homesick.

Not as rude as suggesting a kid who is doing his best to play football for his club should go home and enjoy life.

Come on mate, lets not spread this crap any further
Its a bogus rumour. Are you seriously believing the same rumour that said he had gone back to norway because he was " homesick", when he was in fact in Bolton with the squad  Him and Declan was there as part of the 20 man squad but ultimately did not make the bench.
Also you keep talking about him like he just got off the plane from norway, he's lived in the Uk for 4-5 years and attended a pretty tough academy were players are weeded out if they aren't good enough or haven't got right mentality.
He excelled in that academy at a young age winning best youth player so what on earth makes you think he isn't mature/ tough enough to handle slades regime?

Rob Phillips asked Slade yesterday why he doesnt play Matts. "I prefer Ravel in that position but that could change", What position you ask? ( ) Rav is a sub. So basically he is the sub for a sub right now.3rd choice behind Le Fondre and Rav or whatever position he meant (Phillips seemed to think he meant behind the strikers). Realistically that means he won't play much at all. Especially since Slade doesnt even make many changes in the first place and even Rav can't get games right now.
If Slade was thinking long term he would at least let him go out on loan and maintain a positive relationship so we could have him back at a later stage.

But you've missed the point.
The reason all the speculation about him leaving - especially form the Norwegian press - is that he's rarely played or involved.
He should be our future he's that good. Build the team around him & he will be here next year!
In my opinion he easily good enough to get into this poor team & besides his obvious skills would add an energy we just don't have most of the time.

The most talented, young prospect we've had & Slade can't even find a place on the bench for him?
We should be building the team around him. I find it quite incredible he's being ignored - what a waste.

We should be holding on to quality/class players and playing them, but then Matt is an Ole main signing and Tan has once again fallen out with an ex manager.
Hmm

With the possible exception of Ramsey I can't think of such a young talented player ever down the City.

Annis, down at the circus, it always seems to go back to one man - the ringmaster!

Realistically if I thought matts was serious about staying at city I would write this season off, get players in to play 4231 and drill them relentless, and go for it next season.

Matts and ravel are designed for the attacking midfield 3 - Do i think short term, always a crisis Cardiff City will do that - No

For his development he needs to be playing in the position he will be playing most of his career, and I just don't see that as a wide midfielder in a rigid 442.

Is matts better than Whitts as a central midfield playmaker in our 442, I doubt it. Would he be better in 2 years time - probably. But for city to make that sacrifiace matts needs to be on a 4 year contract.

Did he sign a 2.5 or a 2 year deal in Jan ?
