I just never have the same feeling walking to the CCS for a night match as I did when walking to NP and seeing those 4 floodlight pylons shining down of the stadium. Goosebum time.

CB you have been around and close to the place. Is there any truth in the fact that there were plans to redevelop on the Ninian Park ground?

Ian I was once lucky enough to attend a League match at NP with an ex Premier League referee who was a guest of SH. I met SH for a couple of seconds, that's about how important I am, but I did hear a discussion about the plans SH had for the club. The Borley sycophant was there as well.
A big part of those discussion was the redevelopment of NP which involved moving the stadium at a right angle to it's old position. That would have allowed the potential of a 60,000 capacity stadium or more accurately that was what was being claimed. I remember SH saying that he believed it was essential the club had a stadium of that size if were ever to get to the PL.
In the corner of the room was a computer monitor and it was showing a count of the crowd coming through the turnstiles, it was 15 minutes to kick off and the count was 2346, I remember thinking where the feck will we get another 57,000 fans from.
But back to your questions it was said that evening that plans had been drawn up for the redevelopment of NP but there was also a plan being drawn up to redevelop the ground around the athletics stadium.
We all know what happened after and during the development of the retail park and the building of the CCS some Cardiff City directors, not SH, had a very very good payday.
