We wouldn't be doomed for long... then we'd all have to go and support newport...

Millions of debt yes but to who....Tan.

Tan stand no chance of getting his money back unless we get promoted and look a good bet to stay the course this time. If Tan walks because we do not get promoted then his best best is to sell us on the cheap and cut his losses. I believe he will do that so I'm not worried one bit about us going into oblivion.

My only concern is that if someone new came in then they would look at bringing down the ongoing costs which is mainly the players wages. Our squad would be stripped down and we would most likely be staring at a few years fighting a relegation battles whatever league we were in. However it is a concern I would quite easily live with if it meant getting back to any resemblance of a football club with its traditions restored.

What if the new owner liked us in red?

Then we carry on campaigning.

how does a release clause work if one of the involved parties quit?

They didn't accept his resignation. Just because you quit, doesn't mean the contract you are under is revoked

Cardiff City managerial, Unfolding developments after Russell Slade arrives at Bluebirds training ground.

Vincent Tan is "pulling out all the stops" to have Russell Slade installed as Cardiff City manager for Saturday's game.

That was the term used when I spoke to a friend this morning, apparently he is willing to pay compensation for Slade ( Slade offered his resignation but it was not accepted ), so now City are going down the route of negotiations with Orient for Slade.

Slade will be at the game on Saturday apparently, even if the paperwork has not been sorted to name him as manager but by the sounds of it, Tan is doing everything he can to get the deal done.

It has potential to get messy between the clubs, obviously Orient are trying to get as much as possible for their manager but they have been a bit daft really, printing in Tuesday's match programme, that Slade only had a game to keep his job.

You got mecall excited looking at that headline Carl, I'm back to being suicidal now lol!

Thank you. So it seems their a long way to go , Kevin Nugent will take control of the first team for Saturday's match against Rochdale. At the moment of time have the club accepted his resigned letter ? how does it work, when you want to leave you need the club to say yes or no is this right.

In essence, because he has signed a contract saying he will stay there for X years, if he wants to leave before that time, then reparations need to be made to the club.

Last I knew he had tendered his resignation and the club has refused to accept, meaning the only way for him to join Cardif would be for us to pay Orient for release from contract...
Think the negotiations are ongoing.

According to sources the legal discussions are putting a crimp on things and it looks like young and gabbidon may be in charge still on saturday, with Slade watching the match (probably next to mr Tan)

Slade's contract should have had a release clause about clubs from higher leagues/levels wanting to hire him. Players have that, so should managers.

Thu Sep 25, 2014 1:56 pm

Russell Slade still involved in complex negotiations at the Vale Hotel this afternoon.

If I was a club owner, I wouldn't have that clause in the contract.

A contract is legally binding... there shouldn't be a clause which says "if a bigger club wants you, you're allowed to leave us up s**t creek"

Some do, and a Lot have relegation clauses etc also... but Managers are a different story. Players have a very very short career lifespan remember

Well we were on the verge of it before he came in. Now we are in a lot more debt albeit to him so if he cut and run he would stop subsidising us. Even if we went in administration there's not enough money to keep the club going ergo HMRC would liquidate us like they did Rangers. Who could come in and sort that? They would have before. We are a second tier side with massive overheads. We are not a sound investment.

That's your assumptions based on what the courts said a number of years ago now. So really it's not fact at all especially on the area that there would be no other party interested

So how many potential new owners would be interested in Cardiff with debts owed to Tan IRO £ 150 million.
Say Tan cut his losses and accepted a bid of between 50 to 100 million, who in their right mind would be interested in a championship club for this season and probably at least next season as well.

Their are talks of a couple of PL teams up for sale, Villa, Hull and perhaps a few more, but there are no interested parties.

Why should other parties be interested in Cardiff now.

The ONLY way for city to be sold is if Tan can make the club sellable again.

Re: " UPDATED " ' TAN IS PULLING OUT '

Thu Sep 25, 2014 4:15 pm

Tan won't just walk ,he can't he owns us lock stock and all, he could however sell us to someone else and get a return on his money he is a business man first and foremost he isn't a billionaire by giving companies away.
He will most likely continue to service/guarantee the debt untill .
the right offer comes along imo.
That was some teasing headline how dare you lead us on like that

It;s worrying for a few people. We were on the absolute verge of collapse when Tan took us over and pumped his cash in...

Without that, I'd say we're at least going to drop a league or two...

I'd still be here... (and possibly wearing blue depending on what new owners thought!!) but we'd have a long hard fight to get back to the Championship IF the club survived at all.
