Where does it say he's quit orient ? Maybe just twitter rumours? I have to say its a really strange move if it's true. This will really divide opinion if true and the poor guy will be on a hiding to nothing. The fans and media will be right on his back from day one. Crazy if true. Why not go for Lennon, McDermott, Clarke or hughton? All these guys would get respect instantly. Slade would find himself under so much pressure to prove himself. Not a good move in my opinion.

Well they knew who Ole was and that went well....
They knew who is was but he also wanted to be the players m8s too much of a nice guy. we need an experienced straight talking manager but that aint gonna happen

It fcuking shocking the response on here......Worse fans in the country !!!!!!
Get over yourself.
This appointment would be absolutely shocking.
I am not for one minute suggesting Slade is a poor manager but the appointment is not so much about his ability but the fact that he will do as he's told.
We give him a massive opportunity and he is indebted to Tan. He will become a lap dog to the owner and the DoF.
This story will be met with as much derision as Hockaday to Leeds.

I think you could be right. This appointment would be so odd if it happened it can't be true. I reckon they are still working on someone, maybe Hartley? We all are just guessing at the moment. This time yesterday everyone was convinced it was going to terry burton or Kevin cooper with dj upstairs. Who knows what is going on! So many good managers available we might yet be surprised.

We wont get a well known manager as Tan wants a Puppet. Which ever nobody we get they wont even be in charge anyway. Good old Tan the man is the gaffer now let the Circus really start now

The only manager that would take £200 a week and a big family to wear red shirts
Sat Sep 20, 2014 8:48 pm
It's not a done deal.
If it was you would not be able to get any bets on it. Still available with at least three and still at very generous 6/4 with coral.
Think everyone is getting a little carried away. Calm down dears!

Russell Slade: Wanted by Cardiff
Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade is being targeted by Championship side Cardiff as the replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Slade, who was himself threatened with the axe a week ago, saw his League One side make it four points from two away games this week with a 2-1 victory at struggling Scunthorpe thanks to goals from Scott Cuthbert and Jobi McAnuff.

I actually think he's a decent choice compared to some of them on list, more enthusiastic about him than I was of OGS at the time he was announced! I didn't think it was possible tan or other top brass at club had a hand in team selection but this season has changed my mind!!

Don't think anyone would of heard of him two weeks ago!, Lets be honest, 20 yrs in management and never above the 3rd tier?.
If we are going for a league 1 manager I'mthink we would be better off looking at mk dons boss Robinson.. And that would still be a let done in my opinion...

Don't see the problem myself, he can be the first Slade to take city to the premier league
Sat Sep 20, 2014 9:04 pm
Any concrete proof he's resigned?
Sat Sep 20, 2014 9:10 pm
Il take anybody with experience of English leagues after the shower of shit were being made to watch, I just don't see how a guy like OGS with his playing experience would have sent teams out like he did
Sat Sep 20, 2014 9:10 pm
big difference with coral on Hartley 3/1 compared to 20/1
6/4 readily available
Sat Sep 20, 2014 9:12 pm
This had absolutely nothing to do with orient playing in red and dragons on there badge

No it didnt and why would it

Ole was high profile and failed.
I see the logic of this. "A safe pair of hands". Not a choice I would make, but see his logic.
A cheap manager with a simple focus - get us up. Some recent track record of doing ok in lower leagues.
Less risky than blowing a fortune on someone high profile who doesn't work.
Give the guy a chance. He must receive support, joint goal is promotion.
