Even Pulis will be a gamble. Maybe less so I agree but still a gamble.

We don't have a devine right to be promoted. The football we saw first half on Saturday was excellent so I guess Ole prepared them correctly. Then the wheels fell off.
Do we have the strong characters in the changing room that are required for the fight? Or has Ole brought in talented players that don't have the balls / guts for a good old scrap as is needed in this league.
If the above is true then any manager is going to struggle or at least it will take time to install the work ethic / effort required to get the desired results and by that time it maybe too late this year. I hope I'm wrong.
Time will tell I guess.

Tony Pulis has once again made it clear through his agent and papers he wants the City job.

I really hope we get him Annis.. I need to feel confident and he will bring that to city! :bluescarf:

This is worrying if its him ...OH DEAR !!!...but the other worry is why has Glenn Roeder been at the club for the last 2 games is there a link between him and any of the managers mentioned whether from an ex playing point of view or coaching if there is then that could be why he's been here and someone else will come as manager ...if so we are going one way.

Cardiff now need an established manager like Pulis, i do worry about the style of football but with Pulis you get:

a) No bullshit
b) playing as a team
c) manager who will get respect from players
d) A city fan, so will always been doing that bit more to make it work as Cardiff manager
e) tactical, knows how to change things in games and before

I think Tan will be taking advice from other people as far as appointing a new manager is concerned. With all his other business interests and lack of in depth knowledge of football, I would be surprised if Tan knew of any current Scottish managers until brought to his attention by his advisers. Whoever is appointed will take over a club with a reasonable set of players, and the knowledge that the owner has a history of making money available if a new signing is required.

The problem with Tan being advised is that none of the advisers are doing it for nothing.

They will all be putting forward people that will help them get a finders fee. Pick an up and coming manager and the agents will be very grateful.

Pulis needs no promoting, so no one gets a finders fee. His credentials are obvious though so what is there to talk about.

My god that would be a shocking appointment. Better off sticking with OGS and the players he's purchased.

I'd be surprised & shocked if your club wanted Hartley.

So would I be. A shocking appointment if it happens, one which I would perceive as a thoughtless gimmick.

Statement of intent??? GET TONY PULIS, NOW!

We all need to feel confident, but as things are at the moment I can feel that confidence slowly ebbing away.

Incredible we would be looking at Hartley when Pulis is available. I weould prefer a manager with expirence to be steering our ship.

I really cant understand why we would go for an unknown, wow hes got dundee into the top flight ffs what the hell are the board thinking just ring pulis at least he knows what hes doing its not rocket science tan if you actually listened to the fans who know something about football you might learn something. If cardiff appoint this hartly guy whatever his name is we r screwed :x

With Ole we didn't interview any other possible candidates as far as I understand any look how it's ended up.
Interviews should take place with a number of possible candidates, if you just select a guy and only interview him then employ him on the strength of that interview you could be missing the boat, other candidates could be more suitable but if you don't even go as far as to interview anyone else the same scenario as Ole could happen again.
We seem to always be in a hurry to recruit and could again miss the right man for the job.
Paul Hartley could prove a winner and he may not but putting all your eggs in one basket bit us up the arse with Ole.
Buy in haste repent at your leisure.

This will be no different from when Bristol City acquired Derek McInness. Done well in the SPL & totally bombed in the championship.

Doesn't make an iota of sense to me as an outsider I must admit. This is a massive appointment for Cardiff City as stability hasn't been the case for the last couple of seasons & bringing in this guy will make matters worse. Maybe another time but not now this is one you cannot afford to get wrong by any stretch.

You need a tried and tested manager. Whether that be Pulis I don't know but Hartley would be on a hiding to nothing from the off as the vast majority of your fans wouldn't want him & it's hard to sway a passionate football fan.

I don't know why everyone's sure pulis would come to us esp whilst were championship. Palaces last 2 managers resigned... Something's up there. Why wud he jump out of the frying pan into the fire. He won't want to work under tan. Saying that I don't want this Dundee guy

Hope it's not Hartley I think we need Pulis.

What the fans want though won't make a blind bit of difference to their decision. Rebrand is testament to that!

Now I know we're all speculating on who exactly the new City manager is but if Pulis is indeed willing to take the post, then I really hope that Dalman and the board show that they've learned their lesson and do this today. I simply cannot get my head around why these supposedly bright/proven business people would entertain taking another risk on someone who is unproven? The correct choice of the next City manager may well be one of the most important in our history and determine our financial wellbeing as Tan looks at exiting over the next two years or so. Its not as if we are in a situation where we have to nickel'n'dime for an unproven manager as a result of a restrictive panic budget so why even consider taking this risk? This is an easy decision that needs to be made immediately and I will be aghast & angry if Pulis is not in the role by Friday - he's the right man for the job, appears to be keen to do it and available now for an immediate start. Get it done City.

I disagree.

For the first time in my life as a City supporter I will stop blindly supporting the clubs decisions and therefore the team.

The rebrand was (supposedly) a business decision. Not a good decision but it didn't affect !y support of the football.

Making appalling decisions on the footballing side is the end for me especially as the right decision is obvious to everyone.

The board and Tan, with this next decision, will show me whether they are doing the job for the club and the game or they are just your usual power hungry businessmen unable to give up a bit of power.

Sensible post as ever from Wayne

The club are really starting to feck me off now, someone needs to get hold of Tan and knock some sense into him, we need an experienced Manager not some f*cking novice
