Yeah I want Tan gone and I know that will only happen when someone else steps in. That is the only other plan I can see and will strive for that in what way I can.

Ian you said in a previous post you don't see Tan leaving due to money invested. I'm confused what you expect to happen.

The amount of debt is not the issue of this post.
Comparing the loss of loved ones and the killing of innocent children to an idiot who IMO has ruined our club is pathetic.

NONE of the links you provided shows that the conversion to equity was 'part of the deal' for the rebrand. Which is what you've been claiming.

Yes, everyone was laughing at us when we won the Championship (with Tan's money)
Everyone was laughing at us when we took LIverpool to the limit at Wembley (with Tan's money)
Everyone was laughing at us when we were playing in the PL (with Tan's money)
Everyone was laughing at us when out red-seated stadium was on tellies around the world the other day (with Tan's money)
Everyone is laughing at us now that we're the favourite to win the Championship (with Tan's money)

we are so damn unlucky, Tan has ruined our club, why can't we attract a billionaire who doesn't make us a laughing stock, like the Venkys or Assem Allam or Gaydamak ??

Uh we were a laughing stock when we were in the premier.
Uh we are not favourites to win the chjampionahip now.
Uh Tan makes those three look not so funny.

Not just you Ian and probably not you in that at least you are clear in your views and consistent.

We are favourites for the Chanpionship.

Actually Neil we are not:

Baked odds checker just show the best odds you can get on the team every other bookies might just have us as 4/1 making us favourites just paddy power doing 7/1 doesn't mean we not favs at some bookies and others not. I've not looked can't be bothered but to say odds checker represents all odds is untrue.

You all know my stance on this, but this posting does not reflect my point of view but how people over here reacted to the events surrounding Tan and the rebrand.

The rebrand was never a big topic when Cardiff City was mentioned on TV, hardly any football magazines reported it, 11 Freunde had a big story in one of their issues with photos etc. Apart from that nothing…

The image the club has is not the best, but not the worst. Most don’t criticize Tan or the club but the whole system of billionaires, who got no clue about traditions and football, coming in and change things. Same with Hull, many saying “see, that’s what you get when you let a kn0b buy a club, clubs belong to fans…”

Our system here is completely different, as you know. Hull or City’s rebranding is unthinkable and not possible here, as fans own the majority of the shares and club members vote for their board…

Cardiff City as a club isn’t seen as laughing stock, but everyone is extremely anti-rebranding and very critical of the UK system.

The real laughing stock, in the eyes of football fans here, is the reaction of us fans. The fact that when it happened, most people happily accepted it and still went to the games. Many buying the rebranded merchandise, not protesting, holding demos in and outside of the ground etc.

THAT is unthinkable here, Cardiff fans on the whole are seen as laughing stock now, as our fanbase wasn’t united against the rebrand and that we allowed Tan to get away with it.

Bit more than a few stories wasn't it ? Tan / the club was a regular feature of ridicule on soccer Saturday most weekends last year . Same in the papers . Same when I spoke to colleagues who support other clubs.

I used to be proud to tell people I was a city fan , rather not talk about it with people if I am honest . The kit , the badge , utter joke and laughing stock in my opinion .

Re: All this Tan out

All I will say on this particular thread is that I largely agree with the OP and that a number of fans need to look at themselves over the way they have publicly (and I'm not necessarily talking about any forum's) slagged Vincent Tan off (and therefore the club itself in the world's eyes) without apparently being in full possession of the facts!

The Press don't need any encouragement and I heard the little Irish guy (sorry, name forgotten) on Talk Sport on Friday morning talking about "bad owners" in football and he specifically named Tan

Ask yourselves a serious question: Is he REALLY the worst owner in football??

Personally, I don't think so, and if the red/blue thing hadn't happened, he would be no different to any other owner who wants the ambitious best for his club

Strangely enough, that's what I want too! :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Sadly I don't have his finances, so until someone else comes in to take over, I am going to be grateful he (Tan) has taken our club forward in so many ways, whilst remaining staunchly pro-Blue in the hope that one day (maybe under someone new) we get it back! ;)

Sadly, gratitude is in short supply with some at the moment! :(

I broke my finger the other day..Oh well atleast it wasnt my hand.
I lost my wallet...Oh well there was only £5 in it.

Lets compare everyday things with a total lunatic at cardiff city that way it covers up the stink of his promises for funny enough a debt to equity swap which to start with 99% of fans went along with in return when the red come along now nothings changed only more debt and a total rebrand of the club so lets make things up so it looks good.... What silly f*cking statements made by some who are comparing anything to hide the smell of a complete bullshitter :laughing5:

What the Trust says is irrelevant. The Trust can't make promises on behalf of Tan. I'm reading the club's rebrand statement (http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/art ... 98351.aspx) now and the only commitment I see is to pay the Langston debt, which has already happened. There is also "work will also continue in earnest to improve the balance sheet by driving new revenue streams, attracting new investment and converting existing debt to equity" Note that this is not presented as part of the 'rebranding commitment' and only mentions existing debt, which at the time was around the £40 million mark.

So why the hell you expect Tan to convert £100 million to equity right now....god only knows!

Stating that as a fact is absolutely nonsense & even the most pro red/Tan supporter should be able to see that.
