I can honestly say I didn't expect it to be that impressive. When the ground is full it is now a fantastic stadium. :bluescarf:

For all my raving of the inside, I absolutely hate the outside.

Not so much the Lego style panels, although they are pretty bad. Its the crap plastic blue corners and clear blue edging around the top.

Get it changed to smoked glass etched with massive logos and backlit in changing colours.

I know I am not comparing like for like but the outside of the Allianz Arena is amazing.

Agree we didn't need the extension and although there are plans for two tiers all the way around it will NEVER happen.

Fully agree. It would look so much better like that. Last season there was talks about having the whole ground etc with posters, i.e when we had Mason and Gunnar on the front etc. I would actually like that, maybe our whole first team squad around the stadium or maybe the fans? I'd enjoy it. I hope the CCST can pass recommendations to Wayne Nash etc

Just got home from Cardiff and whilst I wasn't really bothered about applying for tickets initially, I'm really glad I eventually went!

I was up in the new stand and level with the half way line for the Wolfsburg game, but only a few seats in from the end of the left side of the new stand (Canton Stand end) for tonight's game and I have to say that the view on both occasions has been exceptional!

I've no idea where the scaremongering came from, but there's absolutely nothing obstructing the view of any of the pitch, or any of the ends behind the goals!

The only part of the stadium which you can't see from inside the new upper stand, is the seats in the older Ninian Stand seats beneath!

I was sat 3 rows from the back in the very last seat and I can confirm that you can see to the back of the goal. :)

Looked incredible when full tonight, when it started to empty after the presentation you could see how horrible it looked.

Fair to say though if we ever have a City game after dark in front of a packed out crowd, expect one hell of an atmosphere :bluescarf:

Looks fantastic. More of this is what we want as Cardiff City supporters. Let's get fully behind every aspect of our clubs development.

It's looking forward in a positive manner and hoping our club becomes one of the greats of British football is what keeps me going.

Great post, turned around from its original intentions by loads of positive comments.

I was sat there reminiscing a bit of the old Ninian Park & comparing it, it was like being on another planet!

The atmosphere was great last night, made all the better by the Sevilla fans.

Maybe we can get behind our team more, instead of booing our own team when things don't go right. We are very good at 'anti' type singing - against Swansea, England, Tan and even our own team at times, maybe we could develop some supportive songs and become like Sevilla. Might not happen overnight, but it could really happen.

Also, I believe it is in Tan's aims to have City playing the likes of Sevilla and Real Madrid at some point in the future.

May or may not happen under Ole, maybe never, but he's got experience of achieving big things in the past.

Maybe it's time to get behind Tan, Ole and our team.

I know we talk a lot about our history and that can never be changed, but perhaps we need to now look at our future with a different mind set.

It won't happen, as we've got too many fans stuck in the 'A' Block mentality, who haven't grown up and just want to be situated next to the away fans to stare them out and trade insults!

I noticed a few even last night, it wasn't that often, but they made themselves look daft.

If enough of us can look forward, be constructive and positive, supporting our club, from the players, Ole and Tan then we give ourselves the best possible opportunity to repeat nights last night.

It is our future that we need to focus on now, let us and our children look forward to City, our City having the best future possible.

Hopefully playing these giants of football and eventually with the right owner (maybe even Tan) we might become another big team in Europe.

That is something that really frustrates me about people who want an atmosphere down the ground.

When we first moved to the CCS the club said that the only place they were going to tolerate standing was the Canton stand. I thought all the people from the grange end, Block A and parts of the bob bank who liked to have a sing song and stand would all be buying there season tickets their. This means we would have had all like minded people in one area creating the atmosphere leaving the rest of the stadium to join in when they wanted to.

Every year we see the same people moaning about not being able to stand in other areas of the ground, why dont they just move to the Canton stand?

Looks pathetic on this message board! football fans constantly whining about the stadium. Don't like red ,don't like grey! Don't like cladding don't like red girders, don't like seats unless they are blue. Should have used smoke glass with logos on. Unbelievably we still have fans saying it should not have been expanded like they are some sort of experts on these issues FFS!
Ninian Park was a shit tip inside and out but we did not have this amount of whingers then.
Just watch the football and stop behaving like schoolgirls!

As you can see by the time of my post, it was when the ground was empty and the stand was in the background beind Geoff and his pundits and Im sorry if you dont like my opinion but it looked embarassing.

BUT....

I have to say when watching from kick off onwards it looked incredible when it was full, added so much more to our stadium. The whole event looked first class and it showed Cardiff as a City and as a football club in a very bright light.

If you're gonna quote me word for word can we have a bit of context.

I have been praising the stadium throughout this thread.

The idea for the outside is an aside and is actually due to the fact that the original plans had glass in place but was changed to keep Costs down.

Not a moan, just an idea for future development.

He probably saying the same about you right now, fella! :laughing6:

It's all relative, but I'm guessing you don't actually KNOW the guy to make such an assessment! ;)

Unless, of course, ANYONE who doesn't do or agree with what you want is such a person as you described so profanely? (Probably now including me! )

Without supporting the red (I will NEVER do that) I think what we saw last night is testament to where Cardiff City FC is at nowadays in the football world, as opposed to where it was when we were in a dilapidated stadium (as much as we loved it 'cos it was ours! ;) ) with no serious ambition other than to survive and create the odd cup upset under the ownership of a series of 'chancers'!

Excuse me for being positive, but from where I stand, Vincent Tan has played a pretty big part in what has (almost miraculously to those of us who were REALLY there in the dark days ;) ) been a Phoenix-like rise from the ashes that were once the foundation of Ninian Park!

Happy days (red apart) IMHO! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The stand looked absolutely amazing when it was full last night.

The meaning behind the red seats is everything wrong with football today but disregarding the rebrand we have a stadium to be proud of. :ayatollah:

Thanks, fella

I'd like to think a lot of people are starting to wake up and smell the coffee! And I certainly know quite a few on here (and off it) who are getting less and less vocal on their condemnation of Tan as the anti-Christ, so far as this club is concerned ;)

He (Tan) has certainly made mistakes (and one enormous one on the colour issue) but he appears to be learning quickly and is beginning to reap the rewards, even if that means re-grouping for another attack on Premiership membership! :ayatollah:

Sadly, you are right! :(

The Sevilla fans were exceptional in their vocal and visible support for their team last night, but I swear some of the orchestrators at the front didn't see a minute of the game! LOL

I've stated elsewhere that they PROVED our fans CAN create an atmosphere at the CCS IF they choose to do so, but the negativity is culpable and some need to look at themselves rather than across the stadium to the Directors Box (although he could help the situation with ONE special decision)
