We Know Cup Tie Will Be Tough - Solskjaer
By Covsupport News Service
Updated Wednesday, 13th August 2014
Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he is expecting a tough League Cup tie against Coventry City tonight.
Speaking to BBC Wales, the Cardiff City boss said: "Coventry are a big club themselves. I played many times against them myself.
"They've been successful in the cup before so we know it's going to be a tough game."
Solskjaer is expected to change his team from the one which drew at Blackburn Rovers on Friday night and he said: "It's a great chance for them to get more minutes."
"We need to give game time to a few because we didn't have too many games in pre-season.
"At this point of the season some players need game time more than others and it's a competitive game.
"I'll make sure the ones who missed out in pre-season can get a game.

After seeing Wolves and Wigan get knocked out, part of me felt that winning this game tonight might work against us. After all, I think there's a reason Malky all but purposefully had us get knocked out of the cups in our promotion-winning season.
But I've since seen common sense, and with a squad as big as ours, I really don't think a potential cup run would have any negative impact on our promotion hopes.

Solskjaer's side began their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers.
The Bluebirds boss says there will be changes for Wednesday's League Cup first round tie against Coventry at Northampton's Sixfields Stadium.
"It's a great chance for them to get more minutes," Solskjaer said.

Solskjaer's quickfire confessions
Midfielder Joe Ralls, 20, is among the players who Solskjaer confirmed will feature against Coventry.
Ralls, who joined as a youngster from Farnborough, has been a loan target for a number of clubs during the close season.
"Joe's done really well in pre-season and he'll get a chance on Wednesday," Solskjaer added.

Watching us in danger at the back, but passing our way out of it instead of knocking it up the park, just made me a happy happy man. Ole's style of play really starting to shine through.
