so they can sign whoever they want, yet their manager (arguably the most important person at the club) is stuart pearce. i'd probably rather have dave jones and thats saying something.

am i scared of them signing whoever they want? i wasn't when leicester did, and i knew it would end in tears with QPR in 2012.

Firstly he will now have to pay over odds for players, with wages to match! can he persuade premier class players to play under him in champ? Ffs you lot moan about us paying to much wages but cream over what pearce will spend, also naming rights can be any amount, but there are restrictions as to who is paying it! Man city ran into trouble doing theirs as owners cannot put there own money in or anyone with financial interest iin owners cant either, this is to stop cheating fair plair rules.

People are blind if cant see the problems such a rush of money will bring club? Wages players cant just say bale we want you come play for us name your price! Doesnt work that way. What about other players at club?

No way. 1st, it's from Kuwait journalists, and the figure quoted is £500m over 10yrs. That's huge, true, but there's no way a medium size Championship side could command a higher figure than a top Premiership side like Man City/Arsenal, with all their media coverage. It's doubtful many outside the UK have ever heard of Nottingham Forest.. Probably more like £5 million pa, with add-ons if they go up..

This ain't happening, it's pie in the sky.

If it turns out that figures like this are being quoted when the sponsorship actually happens then there will be an FA investigation to see if it is an attempt to by-pass the FFP rules.

Not liking the CCS as our home name strikes me as odd, other than the "new Ninian" I couldn't think of a more apt name. We are Cardiff City, it is our stadium :-) :bluescarf:

Agreed. To me our name and location (including our stadium) identify us much more than any colour can.

Where does £1bn come from? That is off the scale for any stadium naming rights deal - EVER. It just sounds wrong.

The Premier League sponsorship deals (as of a year ago) were headed by Man City at just over £18m per year.

Exactly, someone has said he will get a lot as they are billionaires, and it's probably grown through Chinese whispers to a billion......

Seriously, there's no way it's a billion, they could rename every prem and league stadium for that much. Must be 1million
