I said this before, if we didn't have a wealthy owner we would have been steamrollered for a few of our players.

What the club signed him for Luke. The club made that balls up with amount paid so the buck still stops with them coz they can't get what they paid even though he had a fantastic World Cup. We would of struggled to give him away if the World Cup had not been on.

If it wasn't for the rebrand he would probably be up there with the best owners how he been with the club but bringing all the controversy to the club makes him shine in a very different light but with this post i dont really agree if reports are right about finances with the €7.5m deal supposedly expected to be accepted thats not a good deal we should at least get what we paid for him he wasnt a big issue in the side last season and had a brilliant world cup if we cant get what we want we should keep him

Tan obviously made the mistake of trusting malky who he thought was the football expert in the summer. It's obvious we massively over paid on most players last summer. Now he has taken control and trying to recoup the money. His true value is probably 4-5m after the world cup I was hoping for 6m-ish but I just want him gone now on a perm deal.

Well thats what you get for spending too much on him in the first place, something is worth what its worth. Considering he doesnt want to be here we could lose him for a hell of a lot more than this deal.

Like I said how is it good business?

yes you seem to be missing, we obviously paid well over the odds last year........

I seem to be missing the point?,you just said we paid over the odds,so how Is that good business to start off with, good business is buying low then selling at a profit, not buying high then selling at a loss

of course it is..........but tan doesnt have a de lorean.......he trusted the manager as no doubt he does with his many businesses....all he can do now is damage limitation.........so what would you consider good business at this point?
taking the first offer maybe thats good business....

A good business person over sees every decision,he should have known the deals malky was making, selling at a loss is bad business no matter what way you look at it

Ok, I'll clarify: The only thing that is stopping me actually starting to be in favour of Tan who has, let's face it, put a lot of cash our way, is the rebrand. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Totally right Carl - the problem we have is that due to rebrand Tan cant do anything right at all in some peoples eyes .

Take that out and he would be a hero .

I still think in his time we will go back to blue then he`ll become a cult hero which is what he wanted in first place.

Let me stress though the rebrand is killing our club as we knew it .

I can't for the life of me see how tan is getting any credit for losing nearly 4m on a player lol

Who mentioned £4m ? I believe Tan had little to do with transfers etc last year but now holding out to get best price he can this season .

Like I said previously, unsure of figures but if we bought medel for 11m and inter offering 7.5m euros that would add up to around a 4 million loss,I know medel don't want to play championship football and let's be honest he never did look like a player worth 11m in the premiership,he did look another level in the World Cup,so how can it be good business to sell him if we lose that much money?

this isnt like before where we sold to pay the lighting.............the gulf between the top two flights financially means you have to cut back when in the lower tier.............
