f**k off cowie and don't come back
Why don't you f**k off you clown !
If you can't appreciate the work Cowie put in for us then you are an utter tool.
i agree, why can't people say thanks for your efforts and good luck to the future is beyond me.
Obviously Cowie is at an age that he needs regular football and maybe we could not offer him that.
Good luck Don, wherever you go.
Two good replies to Aramore (who constantly shows himself up on here).
I fear the loss of Cowie will hurt us a lot more than people think, as he was our one midfielder who is guaranteed to cover every blade of grass and do the unselfish, off the ball work such as tracking runners and picking up loose balls, which is exactly what is needed over a long 46 game slog in the Championship.
Cowie rarely gives the ball away, he doesn't have the pace or dribbling ability to terrorise a full back, but the shift he puts in every game and the quality he has (his cross for Whittingham's goal at Hull for example) would have made him a very important member of the squad this season.
Cowie was always a dependable team player for us and will be missed. Ole has signed some nice, talented footballers, but these players won't be able to utilise their talents without a Don Cowie on the pitch with them this season.
You are being a bit dramatic re his importance a good squad player yes, but not integral.
To be fair you can only blame cowie. He had a new contract on the table for a very long time ogs was very patient with him. If he had wanted to stay on a fight for a spot in the team he could've.
We will see if I'm overly dramatic or not when the season gets under way. At the moment I feel we will be a better version of Peterborough, scoring goals, stuffing some teams but also taking a few big defeats ourselves, because of tactics, lack of work rate, lack of character in the team etc. When the going gets tough in the Championship because of conditions, fixture congestions during the winter, poor pitches etc, our talented footballers like Daehli, Whittingham etc will need players around them willing to bust a gut and do the less glamorous side of the game. Cowie was one player you could rely on for this. I think under Ole, we will lose games next season simply because the opposition are more up for it on the day, wanting it more.

Kagisho Dikgaco can do what you call the less glamorous side of the game. And he can do it much better than Cowie.

I wish Cowie luck and thank him for his efforts for Cardiff City. However, in my opinion to call him 'great' devalues the meaning of the word when applied to much better players. Hardworking - yes. Good - maybe. Great - never.
