1. We're not lurching from one court appearance to another fighting for the very survival of our club.
2. We're not HAVING to sell at least one of our best players every season just to pay the taxman.

It is debatable as to whether either of those are directly due to the re-brand but they are certainly down to VTs investment/loans.

Having said that I would like at least 50% of the VT debt turned to equity and to go back to blue and personally don't see any real reason why that shouldn't now happen. If VT is confident of going straight back up, and why not, then surely if he converts now he will be in a good position to get a pay back on that investment and be in a position of strength.

Similarly if he was to announce that we will return to blue 2015/16 then he could unite the club, to a degree, and set us up for a this season with little disruption and evry one pulling in the same/similar direction.

Good post!

We would have gone under by now without Vincent Tan's money.

Yes.We could have gone into admin and be in the shit'like Swansea.Southampton.Crystal palace. And guess what. They kept their identity.Disaster.Where are they now. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Or we could have ended up like Aldershot, Wimbledon, Luton, Hereford, Portsmouth, Leeds, etc.

We'll never know but neither Swansea or Palace's debts were in the same league as our were at the time VT/TG got involved after Hammam and Ridsdale's eras.

As stevedavies said, it would have been a miracle for us to come out of it like those teams did. Some of you protesting fans have no idea.

I think most of you are missing the point of the original question. I'm sure Annis meant "What has the REBRAND actually achieved?", rather than what Tan and his money have acheived. IE: I believe the question means would you now be better off as a club If Tan had carried on with his 'investment' whilst leaving the clubs identity and heritage where it was? The answer to that is undeniably yes. :thumbright:

What were the benefits of the Rebrand for Cardiff City ?

Benifits were
The promise of investment into the playing staff to get us promoted and further funds to keep us up – Did his part in that just took to long to replace Malky
New training complex - In planning stage I believe.
New Stand – All but done
Debt to Equity – Hasn’t happened in full.

Or if you can’t answer that

What has Cardiff City gained from being Rebranded ?
Gained a new stand
I would say thats about it, sadly the money to strengthen the squad was given to the wrong person and we now have a very expensive but average squad.

The obvious question is could this have been done in playing in blue with our crest and the only answer is NO as that was never an option.
Would I return it all to be in blue – yes without a doubt.

Exact quote by tan, so I was off by a little

“I will convert some of my debt to equity, but not all because the amount is very big. The club owes me maybe £120m and I put in £140m or £150m. Maybe I will convert £50m and leave £100m debt.”

Of course the rebrand was a disaster from day one every Cardiff City fan knows that. However you and others are not helping the situation by your intransigent stance and comments on this forum towards and about Tan and the rebrand (thread after thread about Tan and the rebrand, singing "we will always be blue" and protesting, what good has it done? No good at all if your honest with yourself). Don't you think it would be better to engage this man in dialogue. He like all big businessmen has a massive ego and it has to be massaged. You should know that yourself as a businessman. If anybody rubs you up the wrong way you dont like it do you? i.e if anybody says anything u or the mods don't like on here they are banned. similarily if someone rubs Tan up the wrong way he's gonna dig his heels in isnt he? Try talking to the man it might help :ayatollah:

smilies over substance as usual baz.

do you honestly think the protests are working?

as someone who has taken part in most of them i can honestly say they do squat. the biggest one wasn't even a quater of the match day attendence (not even close). and Tan so far has done nothing about it.

you all keep saying "Tan hasn't done xxx and he's not going to do it soon" (debt to eq, r2b etc) so why do you think his reactions to protests will be any different??

2 options and 2 options only: fan ownership, or find another sugar daddy (one who doesnt mind us playing in blue)

sad state of affairs but there you go

Tan's investment came with the caveat of the rebrand.

It was either both or nothing.

No, not enough protests are being done, but are they working? Well he certainly knows it now, doesn't he? How else do you suggest forcing this man to leave?

For someone who is called always be blue, I'm amazed at your negativity towards any sort of protest.

Make an official request to him on here in writing in an open letter (signed by supporters trust, this forum etc)and give it to the local press to publish and lets see if he answers then. Its laying down an official challenge to him in public, how can he say no to that?

For those who are saying "but Tan invested", isn't putting money into the club part and parcel of buying it? Surely this is inevitable.

Debt he hasnt called in, unless some people get their way and force him out.
