That's the point unless somebody offers stupid money he's not going to be sold.

We don't want or need to sell him so there's nothing stupid about it.

You are £150m in debt and they both carry Premier League wages and harbour Premier League desires, of course you have to sell... Everyone else also knows this, hence the stupidity of it. You are just pissing off your own players.

We don't have to sell otherwise he'd be gone with the first offer.
We're not pissing off our players he's happy to stay here otherwise he would of kicked up a fuss and handed in a transfer request as soon as arsenal came sniffing around the place.
You were just hoping that we'd have to sell all our players and be fucked.

Stop kidding yourself.

If he hands in a transfer request then he relinquishes his signing on fee. He isnt going to give away £1m for no reason. He will want to be playing Premier League football and you guys are up to your eyeballs in debt - YOU DO have to sell.

Firstly the club are putting this valuation on the players not the fans. We won't be the first club to put out some ridiculous price tag on our players or the last. Its no difference to when you sell a house you put it up for what you want expecting the interesting party to offer less and then perhaps meet in the middle. We spent stupid money last year so theres no reason to believe someone else wont. If someone misses their targets and gets nervy on deadline day anything can happen

But its quite unrealistic now you are a championship club, valuations like that will do more negative than positive.

There is but if we were desperate to sell we'd already have sold him.
Just like all the other times we had to sell players to survive first offer in they were gone.
Just like reading sold us Le Fondre

Don't get this Marshall being unhappy nonsense... He's said himself that he's more than happy to stay, he loves the area and is settled and has even said not moving would be beneficial to his daughters schooling.. Sounds happy enough to me.

Got to laugh at the Jacks mocking our price of 15 mil for Marshall, when they themselves have put a ridiculous price on bony after one good season at a decent level.

Roath magic I don't often post on here but a few comments ago you justified the price that was asked for michu after 2 good seasons. Change the name at the end of your justification to Marshell and thats our very same reason. Lets not forget he'll count as a home grown player that will add value and at 29 is coming into his peak years as a keeper. As for Medel id happily take 6-8 mill after a decent world cup as in this instance you have a player that didn't do as well as expected won't want to stay and will be unhappy.

You think £25m is ridiculous for Bony?

Thats undervaluing him in my opinion. He was the top goalscorer in the Premier League since Xmas.

Marshall has only had one top flight good season not two. He also finds himself a championship player for a club riddled with debt.... and a goalkeeper.

Michu was a goalscorer in La Liga and the Premier League for a top half team with no debt.

Re: ' Cardiff City want £15 Million '

Sat Jun 21, 2014 9:35 am

Marshall has correctly won many plaudits and been commented by several as the best goalie last season, he's just signed a new contract and has said he's happy to remain at Cardiff & given several reasons why, one of them being an important personal reason. Therefore it will take a lot of money to make the club part with him. Cardiff City hold all the aces.

15 million is too much for Marshall, just as 25 million is too much for Bony, which is why neither will likely go for those prices.

Still had 2 great seasons regardless of what league. Still happy at the club. Still a homegrown player. Still proved his worth. On the michu side of things then can I ask you a question if you think la liga is a top league should you not have paid more if he scored goals in that league or do you consider to have paid a fair price.

We absolutely should have paid more but they were in financial ruin, may even been a release clause if memory serves. I can only assume others didnt have the confidence in him Laudrup did.

As far as Marshall is concerned he so far IS a one season wonder. Im not sure the championship counts in the great scheme of things when discussing top class players.

if marshall is a one season wonder, bony is as well, you're not counting the championship, so i won't count the dutch league. i think bony is an excellent player but not worth 25 million yet. marshall was the best keeper in the prem last season in a lot of peoples eyes

Bony is only 24 and was signed for £12m on the back of scoring 31 in 30 the season before. He scored against nearly all the top clubs and was top Premier League goalscorer from Xmas on. That alone increases his value 100% from what was an untried striker.

Marshall is 30 years old next year and has only really shown any sort of top form the last 2 seasons, one of which was in the second tier which he now finds himself in again.

The two are incomparable.

No, he is worth more than 25 million because that is the going rate for young international strikers who were bought for £12.5m with consistent record for scoring goals and have now done it in the Premier League against all the big guns as well as European competition. :thumbright:

Sorry roath but the value cps of debt argument is flawed yes if we were in Portsmouths situation where they had no choice but to sell but tan is bankrolling the club so he doesn't have to sell you saying he has to sell Marshall is what you hope will happen

Usually agree with most of your views as you know but Marshall won't leave this season unless the price tag is close to being met, plus he has no intention of going to a club where he will be fighting for a number 1 spot he has said that himself as he wants to be Scotland's number one won't be that without game time

I couldnt care less if marshall goes or not.

Yes tan is bankrolling the club but what you arent taking into consideration is that he makes the decisions too. As ive said many times, his investments are getting close to the value of the assets, once it goes over then that amount is no longer secured. Marshall will be on Premier League wages and his value will drop every year.

In terms of Tan, Marshall needs to be sold.
