All they need to show is when the ball actually crosses the line. It's pretty easy to work out then that it hadn't crossed the line earlier in the move rather than raising fans/players hopes by showing where it was "no goal" first.

Oh, you fell into the same trap that Jonathan Pearce fell into then? :laughing6:

You got that from what I typed? Bizarre.

Easy for us at home who've had half a dozen replays anwyays.

But at the CCS if that exact situation happened at a goal on the other side of the stadium which you didn't have a very good view of originally then it would be well confusing.

Easy without those replays too. :?

So it appears that the rules state that they have to show the ball off the post as if the ball is on the line it must be shown as either goal or no goal.

Do you disagree with that sentence then? Would be bizarre if you did, seeing as it is your own words. :laughing5:

I'll quote whatever I like. :thumbright:

But it confuses people like Jonathan Pearce & NJ... :laughing6:

It was easy to understand.

First part no goal = no Benzema goal
second part goal = own goal from fumble

If anything the system helped fairly award the goal to the correct person

Its a great system. :old: :old:

The only one confused here is you Baz if you think I was confused.

I disagree with the way it was shown. You do realise that's different to confused?

try answering my post instead of trying to be a smart arse? you took a snipit out of my response to nj to use it to make you look right when i clearly said you were wrong to nj, its clearly there for all to see in that post, except you decided to use small snipit to make you look right? if you cannot admit to something that is in black and white it shows what you are! just a smart arse of the roathy kind!
end of conversation your not worth the time of day! :old:

I think the system will work fine when everyone gets used to it. It naturally made people think that the ref had made a mistake giving the goal and thats why there was an uproar. I was just saying it seemed like a crap idea using that format but I'm sure people will now be more patient with it.

Of course... I'm just pulling your leg. :thumbright:

I really can't see what you have a problem with though, if people are confused by such a simple system, then that's their look out.

Imagine that happening in say, a Brazil v Argentina final with passions running high.

Recipe for disaster.

The right decision was made. Benzema's shot wasn't enough to cross the line but the keepers mishap meant it went over the line, even for a split second.
