Sky have one outstanding pundit (who is coaching at the WC so he wouldn't be on there much if not at all) and one decent pundit in Carragher. All the others are pretty poor. Their commentary is no better than BBC's.

You shouldn't have to pay a ridiculous amount to watch the world cup, especially if Sky won't offer anything different to ITV and BBC.

Jim Beglin and Phil Neville would get no where near Sky as commentators.

I know ITV's commentary is poor, hence why I didn't mention them.

I doubt Neville is getting another commentary job for BBC again after last night.

His brother isn't very good as a commentator either, Martin Tyler is past his cell-by date and Alan Smith is no better.

BBC do have good commentators. It's only when they bring former players in to commentate it is awful

I'm more shocked people listen to them or care for what they say. Watch the game and form your own opinions. I just ignore them and enjoy the game. If I do take in something they say then I just don't really care. I don't care for half time or end of game analysis either. I have my own eyes and can see what is happening.

Best thing to do at half time is get another beer and talk about it with friends. No point moaning about them on the TV.

The only commentator worth listening too is Gary Neville anyway. All the others are rubbish. No point getting worked up about it.

Sky wont offer anything different ? Are you sure ? Sky has improved football coverage in this country hugely

I did press the red button but it was a delay.

Micheal Owen and Andy Townsend haven't even been mentioned yet. Lol

Michael Owen is one of the worst commentator and pundit I've ever heard.

Dreadful idea. Everyone should have the opportunity to watch the World Cup.

If -- like me -- you're unhappy with the coverage, find something decent over internet radio.

Yes I am positive. What will they offer differently then? I'll still see boring pundits who state the obvious and commentators who are no better than BBC. The WC coverage has been fine.

I just watch the games, and never the pundits. Turn on just before kick off, make a cup of tea at half time, and switch off just after the final whistle.

Phil Nevilles commentary on the England match was the worst I have endured in about 45 to 50 years watching football. I actually turned the mute onfor a bit, but then you lose the crowd atmosphere.
I looked on google just now to see what others thought - everyone says ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Many saying it was a cure for insomnia, or that he should have been replaced by the talking clock at half time. I didnt mind that he was monotone and boring but he and the"propor commentator" just never shut up and hardly seemed to mention the game. As Andy Townsend might "i did not like that ... I really didnt ....of course I didnt......!!!"r
Makes you wonder if the high paid executives at the BBC did any testing of his suitability. Or did they just think getting Neville would be a scoop because his brother is very good on Sky!! Also after 20 minutes of sh@te why didnt someone tell him to cit his imput by at least 50%! Sometimes less is more.
Whatever happened to just sayng who is passing to whom with a FEW insightful remarks. Woostenholme and Coleman would have turning in their graves...
Als  why do we need to pay for at least12 experts on each channel to be out in Brazil. The World Cup Panel of 4 entertaining football experts back in 1970 was much better.
Finally, while I am in Victor Meldrew mode..(and accepting that England played quite well) how can they say England deserved at least a point and prob should have won! Didnt Italy hit the bar hit the post and have one cleared off the line by Jagielker?

ITV should just be banned.

Even some police forces were tweeting about Neville last night. They were going to use his voice for crowd control lol

Anyone see Ian Wright with those Argentinian fans ? I wonder if ITV would have let them sing their song in English whether they would be allowed to sing it live ? I can imagine the horror from viewers when they sing 'your mothers are whores' in English. Pmsl

Is the OP on drugs? Sky have ruined football.
Yes ITV football is shocking but the licence fee is worth it as there are no adverts, and the quality of the iplayer is miles better than itv

SKY have ruined football in other areas but not the actual coverage

Maybe a bit controversial this but those on benefits even though they live on the breadline and there houses are a mess ( This is not true of everyone) always seem to have a massive TV and Sky TV. They would rather there kids to go without than not have those luxuries. Sad but true I have seen it so many times. Yes SKY TV coverage is far superior to the BBC and ITV but it is dangerous for one organisation to have the whole monopoly.

Why no David Pleat doing the commentary analyses the most intelligent and knowledgeable of all pundits.

I MUST SAY THAT LISTENING TO THE MONOTONOUS TONES OF PHIL NEVILLE LEFT ME THINKING THAT MICHAEL OWEN HAS A SIMILAR STYLE OF SOMNOLENCE,THE T.V LICENCE IS £145.50 NOT EVEN TWO MONTHS SKY SUBSCRIPTION FOR ME.LET THE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR FOOTBALL AND NOT LEAVE IT TO SKY,THANKFULLY FUTURES WORLD CUPS HAVE ALREADY BEEN RINGFENCED AS REGARDING TERRESTRIAL T.V RIGHTS

BBC and ITV have gone from bad to worse IMO and I'm only now getting up since Phil Neville put me to sleep last night!!! And don't mention Adrian Childs!!! f*cking shit

Never, improve the standards, don't make everyone, some that can't afford have to pay or miss out.

HTV has been shocking but, some of the BBC have been ok.

The solution would be to allow Sky show it aswell to give people the choice....

 it's true, I suppose you could argue that if people can't afford to go out, good TV becomes their priority?
