tan may be top dog but the underlings were the ones who must have agreed this with agent! that's why tan is taking more control on how we spend money! obviously not enough control before. someone's learning from previous mistakes it :seems.

I'll talk about the alleged bonus offer, which would have been included at the time of the record breaking deal. If that includes bringing up the man who was a key element to this contract being agreed (in Caulker's words :thumbright: ) then I shall.

:thumbright:

Are you on about Lim now being the main man with the contract? :thumbright:

Lim, whilst being advised and stitched up by jj is what again I've been hearing

Caulker is a on £1m loyalty bonus every season he is a CCFC player with his £30k basic wage that puts him Roughly £50k, I am led to believe that Medel is on the same sort of deal

I don't see the problem with it. Just another stick to try and slate Malky with.

I don't understand why people are getting excited about this because in my understanding a "Loyalty" bonus in the means clubs use to pay a player a "Signing On Fee" and that fee is spread equally over the full term of his contract and paid annually. I believe it is done this way to save clubs from finding large chunks of cash immediately a player is signed by spreading the cost over the term of the contract.

This being the case then the "Release" clause which has been negotiated into his contract will be considered a "transfer request" and when he leaves any outstanding "Loyalty" payments will not need to be paid.

So in reality Cardiff City will save money by not having to pay the balance of what was his signing on fee.

From what I was told the bonus is not part of signing on fee and literally a bonus for each completed season with CCFC regardless of division

When Caulker signed I seem to remember a lot of our fans chest beating and speaking of "blowing others out of the water" with Tan's cash.

The reality is you have to pay top dollar in your first season in PL for experienced, tried players.

I don't think many players of Caulker's standard would join a club without cash incentives. If we had survived, he'd have stayed IMHO but there you go.

Expensive business isn't it?

Madness, but all we can do now is get as much as possible for him. At least this new transfer committee should be able to stop this happening again. Hope they stand up to the agents.

To be honest, the old system was ok, when transfers could happen anytime. At least we got a decent sum for Toshack!

Spot on Alex :thumbright:

lol.............so if it is viewed as a good singing...its Malkys
if the bonus is ridiculous its Lim?

for the record i thought Caulker was a great signing at the time..and what ever deal was struck back then must have been required ,no matter who agreed what..............
