I'm getting fed up with threads about Malky but threads like this show without question who the knowledgeable fans are on this forum who actually understand the game. Nevermind, the sacking of Malky has given us "more entertaining football", seeing more goals (well, goals scored against us) and we are once again back where we started in the Championship!

I will now await the "we were a sinking ship already going down" (despite us beating West Brom 1-0 before Tan really stepped in to do the damage) and "Malky was milking us dry" (proof please?) remarks. Oh, and Malky didn't spend wisely apparently despite us being above the relegation zone all season and having the whole bottom half of the league left to play at home apart from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Nobody knows what went on behind the scenes and nobody can prove anything. But the fact is we were above the relegation zone before Malky was sacked and we sunk into the relegation zone with humiliating results after Malky was sacked. Our home form under Malky was always strong, teams came to the CCS knowing they would have a tough game and our home form under Malky against teams in the bottom half would have virtually guaranteed us survival. I think everyone who's honest will agree with that. I think if Malky had a full season, we would have had a few more wins at home which would have not only kept us above the relegation zone, but also moved us further up the table.

Saying all that, if the truth does come out one day and Tan is proven correct sacking Malky because of any wrong doing, then I will support Tan's decision. But until facts come out to prove Malky did deserve to be sacked, I can only judge Malky on what he did for our club. On the pitch, I have no doubts Malky would have got us the required results to keep us up.

Totally agree, everytime you post it's very clear.

I think a large majority of people on both sides are a bit to serious about the whole subject of OGS vs Malky

A casual jest is fun from time to time - as I'm sure we're all guilty of it whether we are aware of our own bias or not.

I can't say I'm surprised as to these threads coming up over and over again when just a few months ago the roles would have been reversed.

Let these threads run their course, as the previous did and lets roll onwards and upwards!

The problem with malky is his brand of football is just not attractive enough for top clubs.

and it gets found out too quickly and due to excessive defending and ball chasing it leads to a knackered team for the second half of the season and a severe dip in form

One minute these same people say can we move on from Malky and the next they continue to post laughable topics, I honestly cant understand some of the ones hatred for one of City's ex managers who achieved more than nearly any other City manager in our history.

Also they then praise Vincent Tan :o :o

I was only discussing yesterday in town with a City fan, who said " Do some of these actually go to the matches and or are they just on a wind up? " It does make you think Hmm

I think a lot of it is Cardiff spent more than any of the other two promoted teams and came bottom while they both survived. That means the money to survive the Prem was there for Cardiff yet it was squandered on indefensible signings and dealings.

Campbell's tiny release clause.
Wasted time on Tom Ince.
Brayford.
Cornelius.
Wanyama.
Capoue.
Buying Odemwingie only to use him wrong.
Over paying for Medel and Caulker.

That's before you look at how negatively he played in the Prem which disenfranchised many (Crystal Palace away).

Malky us not the only reason we went down, OGS was really naive in how poor the team was, how the Malky/Tan/Moody affair had demoralised the team. Thought Zaha was a good player, thought Kenwyn Jones was a real football player. But the fact remains the money was there in the summer to easily place Cardiff in the top 13/14 places

Malkys only mistake was Acorn.

Ian if you really believe that what I thought of your knowledge of football has diminished greatly.

Aren't you the one who said Moore, caulker, Mutch and Campbell would be the spine of the England team?

Re: All you Malky lovers smelling the coffee yet???

I was smelling the coffee very early on in our Premier League season. For me Malky was a decent Championship manager up to a point but towards the end of our Championship promotion season he was very much found wanting tactically and our results in the latter half of that season prove that (. Then in the close season he was found wanting in the transfer market and most (Caulker apart were woeful signings and terrible value for money). Once the Premier started he was found wanting tactically again (a one trick pony sussed by opposition managers and managing a team producing depressingly boring losing football). Last season Ole took over in difficult times and I wont judge him on that. Come the new season he will have turfed a lot of the deadwood out and built his own squad. I won't judge him or the players until the new year but if he's as bad as Malky was by then I won't be slow in saying so. I can't wait for the new season to start to see what Ole's team can produce on the field  :ayatollah:

He claims to be very clued up on all matters football. Yet he comes out with that whopper of a statement. :laughing5: what I want to know is, who Mutch and Campbell are going to keep out of that England side? This should be funny. :laughing6: I can see Caulker maybe getting the odd cap, can't comment on Moore really as we ain't seen enough of him.
